Dear Deepa,
Thank you very much. I managed to get Bailey to the vet a few months ago - he was diagnosed as having sarcoptic mange. Bailey was really anxious the first few times he had to go the vet and would try to pull to go back out the door. For 7 weeks Bailey had to attend the vet for 7 weeks to get washes for his mange.
Unfortunately, it was a bit late to keep my other dog away, as soon as Bailey started getting his washes - my elderly dog started dramatically losing fur - he lost so much fur, depite using medicated shampoos and shampoos such as Lyclear. I didn't feel Glen was able to go the vet he was in a really bad way and he is also a collie which can't be given many of the treatments. I heard about an alternative medicine - which I was a bit reluctant and dubious to try, but it did work a treat - Glen has fully recovered from the sarcoptic mange. The treatment was Arsenicum Albumin and Arnica Sulphur (I think). The treatment did take 2-3 weeks to actually see the fur grow back, but it was well worth it.
Unfortunately I also contracted scabies on my face, because Bailey would rub his face against mine.
I never knew anything about sarcoptic mange, but now thanks to you I do.
Thank you, it was greatly appreciated.

That seems like a great idea. I will definitely start helping him to be more comfortable with car rides. Thank you so much!

I love being able to ask my questions online before going to the vet. When you are pinching pennies because you are living on social security, it helps if you can do something to treat the problem without having to go to the vet. Your answers have helped and I really appreciate it.

Thank you for the answers, I will have him checked out by the vet asap!

thank you also is there any free visits for puppies to see the vet?

Thanks alot Dr.Agacinski,I appreciate your time.My dogs are my family and I'll do whatever is the best choice.I'm a DJ and don't make alot of money but if I have to I will come up with the $600.00 for the operation. If it turns out to be cancer can you tell me roughly what treatment costs would be per month,I'd rather go with the worst case scenario so I know what I'm looking at if need be. Thanks a lot Rosie, i thought it was probably natural and that the dogs that had gone for him were probably just not comfortable with him being that full on. Hopefuly he'll calm down a bit soon and get the message!
Thanks again
