Why not Ask Your Question?

How Does Televets Differ From Other Pet Question And Answer Services On The Internet?

At Televets, our pet advisors and consultants work around the clock to ensure that you get reliable, professional answers when you need them, FREE of charge and with no strings attached! You turn to the Internet for fast, on-the-spot answers, and we aim to deliver an answer for you within the hour. Where other pet Q&A websites have just a handful of advisors answering questions for them, we have a huge number of vets, vet techs, behaviorists, trainers and breeders all ready and waiting to help you. This gives us a massive pool of expertise and enables us to deliver a high quality answer to your question. We have also compiled a unique directory featuring over 18,000 licensed veterinarians in the US, many of whom are registered Televets advisors.

Who Are The Televets Pet Advisors?

Generally, Televets pet advisors are pet professionals working in the pet industry and may be veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary nurses, animal behaviorists or dog trainers. Televets pet advisors are here to answer and discuss your pet health questions - anything from dogs and cats to horses and iguanas. We're here with answers when you need them: Meet The Advisors.

Can I Choose Which Advisor Answers My Question?

Yes. You may ask a question to either to the whole panel of advisors, or privately to an individual advisor. If asked to the panel, the first available advisor will answer your question. Only advisors qualified in the relevant field will attempt to answer your question. You are welcome to direct a question to an individual advisor, as selected in the Advisor Directory, but you may face a delay in getting an answer depending on when the advisor is available. If response speed is important to you, please ask your question to the panel.

How can such a great service be totally FREE OF CHARGE?

The Televets advisors are caring professionals who enjoy helping out worried pet owners where they can, but registering with Televets also offers them free advertising for their clinic or service. Our advisors get to showcase their knowledge and service to a huge number of pet owners, some of whom will be prospective clients living near to where they operate. Delivering quality answers online to potential clients helps them establish a web presence, and pet owners have free access to their expertise. It's a win-win situation for both parties!

How does the Find a Veterinarian work?

Our handy vet directory features 18,000 licensed veterinarians nationwide. By simply entering your City or Zip Code, you can view the veterinary clinics nearest to you on a map. Many of these are registered Televets Advisors, meaning you can browse questions previously answered by them, ask them a question yourself and get a feel for the kind of service that they offer. This is another unique feature of Televets and helps pet owners to select a knowledgeable, competent and caring veterinarian.

How Do I Ask A Question On Televets?

To ask a question simply visit our Homepage and type your question in the box. Please title your question clearly with as much description possible.

How Does The Question And Answer Process Work?

Visit our How It Works page.

Do I Have To Register In Order To Ask A Question?

Yes, a brief registration process for you and your pet is required for two reasons:

  1. So we may contact you with the answer, and
  2. So we may answer your question better.

Our simple pet registration involves checking boxes for characteristics such as species, breed, sex, age and relevant medical history all vital details that provide our advisors the information needed to provide detailed, relevant answers to your questions.

Will I Always Be Notified By Email When An Advisor Answers Me?

Yes. When you ask your question, you will be emailed as soon as an Advisor replies. This is so you get your answer as soon as possible. You can, however, turn this feature off if you don't want email notifications. Just go to your Edit My Profile page and update your notification preferences.

How Quickly Will I Get An Answer?

Whilst we cannot offer guarantees, our aim is to deliver an answer to your question within an hour of asking. At Televets, advisors are online 24/7 to answer your pet questions. By employing advisors based in both the US and the UK, we utilize different time zones to provide around the clock coverage. Naturally if your question is asked to a specific advisor from our directory, the response time will depend upon the availability of that individual.

What If I Wish To Ask A Question, But Need To Be Away From My Computer For A Period Of Time?

If you plan to be offline after asking a question, just indicate when you plan to be back online when you post your question. This way, we will know to expect a delay in hearing from you when we post your answer or when we ask you for more information in order to answer your question better.

What Do I Do If I Don't Like The Answer I Get?

The Advisors are trying to help you, so please give as much detail as you can when asking. If you feel they are missing the point, please clarify your question. They may have misunderstood you and will then attempt to provide a better answer.

What Is The Question Archive?

The Question Archive | Homepage is a collection of previously asked pet questions and their corresponding answers. These are typically edited to remove any personal details, and categorized by species and symptom to help you find relevant questions. You may also Search The Archive if you aren't sure which category your question falls under. Most of the health problems and behavioural issues that pets suffer from will have been encountered by other pet owners in the past, so you are welcome to browse our question archive for free before you ask us a new question. Check out our How It Works page for more details.
