My cat just got neutered 2 days ago. Yesterday, I looked at his private area and saw this red mass hanging from his testes. What is that?

  • Chiggers

We have a 5 year old Golden Retriever. He got into chiggers (or they got into him) last week. The first couple of days we just thought that it was an ear infection that he was scratching at so we were treating the ear infection, but we just realized two days ago that he had chiggers. He has a nasty oozing place about the size of a fist just under his left ear. We bathed him and poured peroxide on the site and let it bubble out. We followed that by a treatment of Revolution. Is there anything else we can do? We tried to shave it, but he really put up a fight. Is there anything topically that we can put on it or do we need to get him a sattelite to stop him from...

  • Anal gland

last night Gingers anal gland appears to have opened or burst. she appears uncomfortable but not in pain. she is eating and moving fine. Can the open wound be treated with home remedies or does this type of incident (which has occurred in the past) mandate a trip to the vet? We recently moved and have not yet found a new vet near our new home.

  • mites/fur

Some dropped off two puppies at my home in north texas. they have brown flecks in thier fur. one has a sore, non weeping irregelar surface . after giving them a bath I noticed the brown flecks were white. i used a flee comb and found the flecks are a small mite about 1/16th on an inch long with a u shaped body. the heads are brown and the body is white. there are millions of them. what are they?

  • My pet has been scratching like crazy since Mid January. Feb 1st, we brought her to the vet, they told us that she had a puppy acne of sorts, gave us medication and sent us home. 4 Days later, our dog was whimpering so much when she itched.. and the itching was non stop. She has little crusty circle on her ears and parts of her face.. and the more she itched the worse it got. So- they gave us Ivermecin (sp) for Sarcopties Mites.. then2 weeks after that, the itching had resolved a bit, but she was now biting her paws so bad they were bleeding and open. So-- we brought her again to the ER she was placed on Celphlexin (sp) and we were told to continue w/ the Ivermecin....

  • I have an 8 yr old cat who has been an inside cat his whole life. He got outside tuesday and got in a fight with another cat. We thought his eye was what was bothering him. There seems to be a little swelling above it and it is watering, but tonight we discovered that he has a couple of scratches in his ear. He has been lethargic and not himself. He had a bad reaction to immunizations several years ago so since he stays inside, we have not given him shots in several years. Is there anything we should do, or should we just keep an eye on his ear?

  • Injured cat

Hi, last night as my boyfriend drove out his car, my cat was underneith, she ran and we couldnt find her till this morning. She is breathing poorly now through her mouth wich is open all the time, is hurt next to her mouth, her one side of face is swollen up, her one eye is just showing black pupil, above her eye the hair is torn away. There is dry blood at her nostrils. The rest of her body seems fine and she moves fine, just this breathing noises ect. She doesnt want to drink water or eat. It is impossible for me to get her to a vet now as i dont have transport. I am really worried, dont know what i can and cant do, if fluids is a good idea? If i should try and wash...

  • Paw Bleeding

I left my him outside all day yesterday in 15 degree weather & when I got home he came in with both of his back paws bleeding & he's limping around today & acting really moping -which is very unlike him to not be frisky. It appears that is right back paw was hurt between one of his tows & has stopped bleeding today -left back paw was injured by his big pad & between one of the toes. What can I do to help him? Is there any real concern with infection? He also has a clump of fur taken out by his neck - but no bleeding - I didn't see it last night, so either I missed it or he did that overnight.
