• SWELLING AROUND ANAL OPENING

  MY DOG HAS SWELLING ON ONE SIDE OF HIS ANAL OPENING. IT ALSO HAS TWO PUNCTURE WOUNDS WHERE THE SWELLING IS. WE DO NOT KNOW IF THE PUNCTURES WERE CAUSED BY HIM LICKING AND ITCHING THE AREA OF IF HE GOT BIT OR STONG BY SOMETHING. YESTERDAY THE IT WAS DRAINING AND THE SWELLING WAS GOING DOWN, BUT TODAY IT HAS GOTTEN BIGGER AND IS NOT DRAINING. WE HAVE BEEN WASHING THE AREA AND PUTTING NEOSPORIN ON IT. WHAT COULD THIS BE?

• Still bleeding neutered 7 days ago

  We had our kittens (born April 6) neutered a week ago. One is fine. The other looked red, raw, and literally a little inside out as soon as we got him home. I called the clinic right away and asked about it - they said he had been checked before discharge and that likely anything we were noticing was because he is light coloured. I was not so sure, but the next he had a scab (albeit large) where the incision had been and so we thought all was well (he was also totally himself, playing, eating, drinking etc.). Sunday he started to bleed a bit - we called the clinic who said to watch for a few hours and see if it stopped - they thought he likely pulled the incision open...

  my lab has fad an had a shot of depo medrol he is still itchy and has lumps on his nose from bites and when he scratches they bleed, is there anything i can do or just wait for the meds to work an monitor him regularly?

  My Pitbull and boxer recently got in a fight on sunday night, ive noticed recently that my pitbull's mood has changed and i think its possible shes pregnant, she was in heat about 3 weeks ago when we left for the beach and my neighbore was watching her and said she wasnt sure but thought she may have gotten pregnant with another pit. How can you tell?she seems to have gained a little weight and i think her nipples have started to sag a little.. and also on sunday night, she got in a fight with our boxer,it was a puncture wound, and i cleaned it up but now it was starting to heal and it popped open and bloody puss came out, it was a hard lump, and looked swelled with...

  1 of my stafordshire bull terrier puppies has a harelip and i need advice on feeding him ( please do not advise me to put him to sleep as he has made it this far). he is now 1 week old and so far we have been using a hand rearing teat attached to a syringe so we can monitor how much he is taking. we are feeding him 15mls every 2 hours and toileting him afterwards. he has put on 3 ounces so far! and is keeping all his milk down ( we are using whelpi) our bitch refuses to feed him or even have him near her so we now have him in a box with a heat pad. we have checked his mouth and his pallet is complete with only the tiniest of gap at the very front. can you please tell me...

• nose peeling away

  A few months ago, Beau's nose started drying out on one side. It became worse until part of it actually sloughed off. We took him to the vet, she gave him anti-biotics. This seemed to help, but now the problem is back. She doesn't know what the problem is or how to deal with it. Can you advise?

• Bull terrier bitch with severe folliculitis

  My 6 year old bull terrier bitch suffers very badly with folliculitis.... we have tried many things, remedies but nothing seems to be working... a breeder has suggested a hefty dose of marbocyl..... my vet is very untrustworthy and is not at all understanding... is there anyway that i could get a prescription without revisiting my vet

• snake skin

  I have a four foot long african rock python. I got her about to weeks ago from one of our pet store we distibute to (i am a hamster breeder). She was returned to the store as a very aggresive animal (which she is) and with "some" minor wounds. Yeah right it looks like a dog got ahold of her. sShe is healing fine from that injury but, today when i was cleaning her cage i noticed that she was missing some skin meaning the skin has been removed to the fatty area but not to the muscle. I also noticed that while handling her her skin is very sensitve and breaks easy. is this someing i should be extemely concernd about or just cautios about?
