  i was given to kittens in september that had been wormed before we got them and was told that they had had their injections, they are both girls. the problem is the both keep sctatching and now one has fur missing of her neck and it keeps wheeping and looks red raw. what is it? and what can i do to make her better?

• Should i neuter?

  Rusty is eight years old and has according to the vet been chewing on his genitals, he now has a big wound in the area. Im currently applying an ointment called vetropolycin. Should i neuter him? And if so, will there be any dangers due to his age?

• Cat puncture

  I have an orphaned squirrel that was brought in by a cat. He appears to have a small puncture on his face that is slightly swollen. How should I treat this? Is it dire for him to have antibiotics? He eats very well...

• Female guinea pig in pain

  Ellie has 4 babies with her and their almost 3 weeks old now, they are still taking milk but each time they do, she screams out in pain, her teats are swollen and a greeny color liquid is coming out, i think they are definatly infected, i rang my vet and they said that she will need antibiotics and a couple of injections, but i cant really afford taking her to the vet. So i tried cleaning it with salt water. I also seperated her from 3 of the baby boys and put her with the baby girl. The father of the babies is with the boys, he seems to be ok with them and the babies are still eating vegetables. what else can i do to stop it getting worse?

• Guinea pig

  We have 2 guinea pigs approx16 weeks old. One is bigger than the other, both female. The bigger one has started nibbling the smaller one s ear. We have noticed it looks slightly red and if it has bled . What is your advice please?

• Itchy/bothersome tail

  HI, I have a 8.5 year old male, neutered Australian Shepherd mixed dog. I am currently located in Grenada, but am from the U.S., as is my dog, Darwin. About 2.5 months ago he started what would be called a hot spot on his lower tail, close to his rump. He had a couple of these in his past, so we basically knew how to deal with them. Clip the hair, keep it dry, keep him from chewing on it. After a few days or trying, we were not having much luck keeping him from it, even with a cone and a wrap on his tail. We took him to the Vet Clinic here (St George's University Animal Hospital). To make a long story short, we have been 4 times to the vet over the past...

• Westie fall allergies?

  Yogi has been to the vet twice with what the vet says is just allergies, with no real explanation of what kind of allergies, fall, food, or other wise. I have switched his food to the purina proplan salmon and rice for healthy skin and been treating with medicine as recommended by the vet, but nothing seems to be helping. Could there be something else that would look like or act like allergies?

• Snake bite on a min. dachshund

  My mom's dog, Pepper a 3 yr old min. dachshund, was snake bit on Sunday. She showed no symptoms, at first, just some swelling. Now, 3 days later, she has a big hole on her side that is draining puss & smells horrible. I have called several vets & clinics. None will treat her without money up front, which my mom doesn't have. She is currently giving Pepper amoxicillin, benedryl, & baby aspirin. Is there anything else she could do to treat her dog at home?

  my chihuahua just got bit by my other dog on his leg its swollen and he wont move it i already washed it and put antibacterial ointment on it what else can i do? help please
