Weight loss

  • My 12 yr old sweet ol boy has been feeling really bad, he is lethargic, w0n't sit, only lies on his side. won't walk, eat (only selective foods like a hotdog or a piece of chicken etc.)His bones are starting to show. He has a leaky discharge from his private and the same from his eyes (greenish), It's been a week now and he is no better. He's not throwing up and doesn't seem to be hurting just miserable (but i DON'T KNOW)We do not have the money to take to the vet and I know he is old, I just want to make sure he is not suffering. What should I do? I have been giving him 1 aspirin 2 times a day to help.

  • sick dog

I have a collie who is 11 years old. He has a problem with his a loose esophagus making it hard for him to swallow. Recently he won't eat, and vomits if he does, is weak and more inactive then normal. He has also has excess eye discharge. I don't know hot to help him

  • Fever, blood in stool

My 10 month male, neutered, corgi mix has 103 fever, lots of blood in stool, pain trying to walk, x-rays show no blockage in stomach or intestines, small intesting is severely inflamed and irritated and stool tested negative for parasites. Vet suggested doing bloodwork for the liver.... what could this mean? He is dying? Thankyou

  • passing blood

my dog is 12 mnths old and she is refusing food or water, she has no energy and is passing blood through bowel movements and urine

  • Hello, my German sheppards hasnt been eating the way he should be the last week, and he is having problems going to the bathroom, as in solids. He looks like he is in discomfort, and is starting to walk funny. his stool is small, and I think there might be worms, I actually saw a worm in his stool, but I am not sure if it was there or a visitor later. It looks like he has been digging alot lately outside, I wonder if he ate something from the ground, and now its playing havoc with him. I love my dog, he is 8 and my buddy, but he isnt doing well, and I am divorced and cant afford to take care of him if this is serious, its really killing me to watch him just get more...

  • Sherbert keeps "posing" like he wants to go to the bathroom. He uses a litter box, and today, catching him trying to go pee/poop (I have no idea which), I immediately changed his litter box concerned that it might be full. Didn't help. He is posing everywhere. I must add, nothing has come out. No urine, no bms. I'm thinking may he might have a urinary tract issue - how immediate do i need to take action? It's Saturday night, can it wait to take him to the vet on Monday?? I"ve also noticed that he seems to be losing weight. He is on weight control food, don't know if that is why - he's been on the food for maybe 2 yrs, the weight loss is recent.

  • need diagnosis

I have been taking my 11 year old cat to the vet for the past month. She has lost a hird of her wieght in a year and is still losing. She has an appetite and gobbles her wet food. She has a UTI with blood and white cells in her urine. She has been on an antibiotic for three weeks. She also has a very low white and red blood cell count that is not improving. Her behavior has not really changed and she still acts friendly. We had a feline aids and leukemia test done and they were both negative. The vet suspects an ongoing disease process. Any suggestions? We don't have unlimited funds for diagnosis.

  • need diagnosis

Yes. She her thyroid has been tested and was normal as well as kidney fubction. The only abnormalities in the basic workup were a low white and red count. She has also been seen vomiting a thick dark substance that resembles stool. Her vet thinks in could be blood from the lower GI tract.

  • Our 14 year old pit bull has had a tumor on her spine for the past 5 months as shown on an xray. She appears to be close to the end. She is still eating, yet the past 2 days she is shaking. What does that mean? Is it that she is in pain? She was at the vet 2 weeks ago, and he plans to re-evaluate in a week when he returns from vacation. I don't want her to suffer. Any feedback?? Please answer by email to this address. Thanks.

My German Shepherd is approx 16yrs he has had a skin problem that i have treated with benzl benzoate and this has cleared it he has stopped scratching however he is constantly weeing on his bed (something he has never done) and he does not realise he has done it and remains lying in his bed also he wee's in the kitchen during the day and night regardless of going out numerous times. He is loosing his hearing and sight although he does not seem in pain could the constant wetting be something to do with his kidneys or just old age i do not want him to suffer or loose his dignity he is a beautiful old man would having him put to sleep be his only option or can he be helped
