We have a 14 year old male cat who has been throwing up every day for the past couple of weeks. When he throws up, it sometimes contains hairballs, sometimes it is partially digested food or just liquid. We have been grooming him daily as well as at least twice a week giving him Laxair. Could you please advise what we need to be looking for or any other symptoms? (When we contacted our vet, he recommended the grooming and Laxair, but things do not appear to be getting any better.) Thank you, Anita Beeson atb053092@aol.com

Back in May of this year we suddenly lost our cat to what was later found to be a form of pancreatitis. Our cat's only symptoms were occassional vomiting. Other than that there was no cause for concern. Our other cat (the sibling of our other cat) is now vomiting occassionally too. What are the chances of this being the same condition? The other odd thing is that after almost ten year Gerber who never meowed, now meow at night all the time. He stops if you pet him. I have palpated his belly and he does not seem to be in any pain or have any masses. Our vet thinks this is meowing (the way it sounds) is a form of loss or grieving of his litter mate. What do you think?

I noticed tonight that the whites of his eyes are red. Is there anything I need to do ther than try to get him to eat the food I now have to replace the new type?

Sick Puppy
Posted on 2008/10/15 by UserYes, I was wondering what may be happening to my large dog that we keep inside the house. He is usually up and about and into everybody's business, but lately he has been isolated, shaky, eating grass, throwing up, and not doing any regular activities. His stomach feels hot and shaky, I'm just worried cause he has never acted this way before

Blood Drop and vomitting
Posted on 2008/10/18 by UserI woke up to hear my dog vomiting under the bed. I tried to get him some water but he wouldn't drink or come back to bed; instead, he just stayed by the closed bedroom door looking to get out. When the door was opened, he went into the bathroom and jumped into the bathtub. When I went to investigate I saw a drop of blood in the tub. I have no idea where it came from on him, but I know for sure it was from the dog. He kept tail tucked for a while and even licked at his rectal area. After about 10 minutes he was back to his normal self and ready to play. What could have happened?

Vomit and odd stool
Posted on 2008/10/21 by UserI gave my dog a vet approved dewormer 2 days ago for round and hook worms. It appeared to have worked that day because she was expelling the worms each time she went to the bathroom. I thought they were gone, because this eventually stopped. Today, however, she began to expel a spongy yellow feces with what appeared to be more worms in it. I asked my vet about it, and she could not give me a good reason. Also, I had to take my dog in to the vet today because she was vomiting liquid that appeared to irritate her. The vet just gave her fluids, some canned foods and told me to withhold food and water for several hours and reintroduce gradually. She did not give me a...
