Gerber
Posted on 2008/09/29 by Michele SmithBack in May of this year we suddenly lost our cat to what was later found to be a form of pancreatitis. Our cat's only symptoms were occassional vomiting. Other than that there was no cause for concern. Our other cat (the sibling of our other cat) is now vomiting occassionally too. What are the chances of this being the same condition? The other odd thing is that after almost ten year Gerber who never meowed, now meow at night all the time. He stops if you pet him. I have palpated his belly and he does not seem to be in any pain or have any masses. Our vet thinks this is meowing (the way it sounds) is a form of loss or grieving of his litter mate. What do you think?

Help Why is he vomiting and what can I do?
Posted on 2008/09/27 by UserHelp. I am presently out of work and money is tight. Yet I need help. Our 6 year old cat has been vomiting up his food for 2 days now. He is a bit lethargic yet still seems to want to eat and drink. Just doesn't hold it down. He does not seem to be in pain. I have isolated him from the other 2 cats into a room with his own litterbox and I monitor his food, water. My last two attempts at food were first, an invalid's mix of pureed boiled chicken livers and rice. When he vomitted this, about 8 hrs later I tried baby food--chicken--that he vomitted within an hour. I am worried. It is late Sat. afternoon and no vet is open even if I could afford it. What should/can I ...

Sick Cat
Posted on 2008/09/24 by Anita BeesonWe have a 14 year old male cat who has been throwing up every day for the past couple of weeks. When he throws up, it sometimes contains hairballs, sometimes it is partially digested food or just liquid. We have been grooming him daily as well as at least twice a week giving him Laxair. Could you please advise what we need to be looking for or any other symptoms? (When we contacted our vet, he recommended the grooming and Laxair, but things do not appear to be getting any better.) Thank you, Anita Beeson atb053092@aol.com

Concerned
Posted on 2008/09/24 by Laurie KesterI have a boxer/collie mix. She is 3 years old and a little princess!! The past week or week and a half she has been rubbing her behind on the carpet. She's not "scooting" across the floor, but she's making complete circles as if she's scratching her behind. I didnt think anything of it untill I noticed her "private part" is really swollen. She is not acting any different or her appetite isnt any different other than that and there have been a few nights this past week that she's thrown up and it seems she has to go "tinkle" more than usual. She still wants to play and she's still active and hyper and what not. I'm not sure why or what has cau ...

My cat won't stop Vomiting..
Posted on 2008/09/23 by Stacey AveryI've been researching about vomiting and regurgitation. However the just of what's going on with my cat is she throws up (food only) within 15-45 minutes of eating, and if I don't pick it up she will eat it. I had the same issue years back in which I was told to only feed her a 1/4-1/2 a cup of dry food twice a day. This stopped the vomiting for quite some time.. or so I thought. She also tries to chew any type of plastic she can get her hands on, as well as any long threads (5-7in) that may be sticking out of the carpet.

Cat Panting and Vomitting
Posted on 2008/09/23 by Jason MartiniThis morning I found my feline crouched over a pool of white/yellow foam that she had just vomitted. She was panting and her eyes were dilated. She had come from the litter box and looked as if she may have lost control of bowels because there was solid stool on the floor trailing to where she stopped to vomit. Worried I rushed her to the animal hospital. By the time she got there the panting had ceased and she looked to be fine. The vet has run blood work and x rays. In the x rays he said the pulmonary arteries were enlarged and this looked to be a case of heartworm disease. (blood work will come back tomorrow) She is very overwieght (21lbs) and has not been losin ...

Have I made my dog sick?
Posted on 2008/09/21 by UserI gave my dog a tiny bit (The size of a thumbnail) of a veggie patty. she has been sick with a staph infection (internal) and has been on antibiotics for a month. She is still losing weight. 9 lbs lost. she has a good appetite but is lethargic and has pale inner eyelids and gums. Vet said her RBC is now 15 and her albumin level is still high. Could that be caused from the bit of the veggie patty?

recent vomiting and light blood in diarreah stool
Posted on 2008/09/18 by oscar gomezHello, our 12 week old puppy has had diarrhea for the past three days. We think it started from him eating the some of our other two adult dog's food. We bought some anti-diarrhea liquid which has kaolin and pectin and his stool turned alot more solid and partly white, which is the color of the liquid. We gave him boiled chicken with rice last night and he ate it no problem, but threw it up about 1 1/2 hour later. This morning his diarrhea was back with light blood in it, and he has no appetite. He doesnt't want to eat the chicken and rice. He has been drinking some water and his nose is moist- it was dry last night. Any suggestions before taking him to the vet?
