I have a Bichon that is about 18 weeks old. Ever since we had her she has had blood in her urine. She has been to the vet several times for this problem and has been medicated. The last time the vet had her urine cultured and said that she had a nasty infection and he put her on medication for 15 days. She seemed to be getting better, came off the medication on Tuesday this week and today her urine had blood in it. I have taken her back to the vet today and he now said that we should spade (not sure of spelling) her and then he could look at her bladder at the same time. We would like to breed her at least once but her health is more important. I would just like a second...

What killed my cat?
Posted on 2008/03/20 by MaryI would apprecieate any ideas on what might have killed my cat of 8 yrs. He was a In and outdoor cat, via a doggy door. Had been all his life. Moved to Okmulgee Oklahoma in 10-05. "Key", his name, absolutely loved his new fenced yard, birds, bunnies etc. Often brining in his "kill" for my purview. He was current on all preventative shots. On late eve of June 6th,06, I found him extrememly lethargic. Time was after midnight, I thought I wait till morning. In the morning he was almost comatose. Took him to a nearby vet, the front desk person said that she didn't feel that much could be done, but when the attending vet returned I would get a phone call. Until the vet...

Cat had Blocked Bladder
Posted on 2008/05/08 by IngridBoo has just come back from the vets after having been in for 5 days with a blocked bladder. They have unblocked it, and sent him home with antibiotics and other tablets to help his bladder cope. There is now blood in his urine, is this normal after having this produce and having the catheter removed or should I be very worried ?

My 16 year old dog is weak and sick
Posted on 2008/05/11 by LeslieI'm worried about my dog. She has arthritis in her hind legs and now even more so she has trouble standing and balancing. Last night she threw up and while the second amount was coming out she lost her balance and had trouble standing once again. Also last night she had diarrhea for several hours but was able to control it to make it outside. About 5 a.m. she drank a bunch of water, but she has had no appetitie since eating her dinner last night. She seems very weak. When she tries to stand her legs give out and she falls to the floor (but not all the time). Is her weakness due to the sickness from last night or could she be entering a different phase in her old...

constipation
Posted on 2008/05/26 by wandaMy dog is constantly squatting and cannot seem to have a bowl movement for days at a time. His rear-end is swollen and he urinates uncontrollably. I have given him laxatives but it only seems to cause more problems. Does he have a colon problem?

Has my kitty lost his love for life?
Posted on 2008/06/20 by UserMy loving cat, "Mr. Whiskers", for many months, has not been his active self. I have taken him to several vets wanting to know answers to his progressive symptoms: dragging of left hind leg (if he moves),staggering/falling, walking against walls, head tilt, hiding under the bed, lack of interest in play, lack of eating/urination, little meowing and more moaning, eye infection/lazy right eye, urination trouble (while I hold him) and seizures. Mr. Whiskers's vet placed him on 1/2 pill of Predisone every two days. In addition, I was told just to make him confortable since his demise could be near. Since his last seizure (about a month ago) Mr. Whiskers has...

dog bad behavior change
Posted on 2008/09/08 by alexandraI recent went to FL. and left my dog with a friend who ended up neglecting my dog. for example she left her in a cage all weekend no food water and she ended using the bathroom all over the cage. Since I have gotten her back her behavior has changed dramatically. She was potty trained very well. Now she goes anywhere and gets scared very easily and pees on herself. She mainly hides under the bed and goes there. and vomits sometimes under there to. we have a cat she would playful have fun with. Now when they play she makes evil growling sounds like it is a real fight. we have to leave her in the cage at night otherwise she pees on the floor. I want my good sweet dog...
