Lucy has been deteriorating in this respect for some time. When I mentioned it to her Vet last, he didn't comment and I neglected to followup. She has been getting progressively worse for about a year. The onset was a difficulty sitting still. when sitting, her front feet would slowly slide out in front of her. Then she began having trouble moving quickly on the tile floors. Her back legs would slide out from under her and she would go down on her hips. Lately she has trouble getting up off her bed when her front feet are on the tile. She has either become incontinent, or just can't get up to go, so she soils her bed every day or so. She works at lying down,...

Blood in Urine
Posted on 2007/12/22 by SarahApril had a bad fall at 6 weeks and can move her back legs just not walk on them. About an half of an hour ago we noticed blood in her urine. I know that this could be a urinary infection but what other possibilities are there? How soon should I get her to a vet.. I'm on a very very limited budget.

Compulsive scratching
Posted on 2008/01/31 by shepShe is scratching over and over on newspapers (shredding then into strips) and bed cover. She has always done this ocassionally, but now she seems to be doing it every hour or so. Also, she seems to be urinating just a little on the shredded paper. She is also using the litter box, which I clean 2X/day. Do I need to take her to a vet?

Pinkish watery diarrhea
Posted on 2008/02/04 by JenMy 16 year old cat vomitted yesterday then began having many diarrhea accidents. The fluid is watery and pink, with little clots of blood in them. I believe it's diarrhea but hard to tell it apart from urine because he's also producing small amounts of stool - that seem normal. I havn't made a trip to the vet yet because I know it's going to be expensive. We recently moved to South Eastern Wisconsin from California and shortly after lost my dog to ethanol glycol poisoning which I am still trying to recover from emotionally and financially. My cat has always been healthy and his appetite is normal. What do you think?

Why has he lost bladder control?
Posted on 2008/02/08 by UserMy dog had a rash around his genitals and was treated with Prednisone, and Gentocin, now for the past few days he has lost bladder control, is this related?

Once again, Marley woke up, stiff, drooling, "foam" bubbles coming out of her mouth. This time she had loss of control of her bowles. The episode lasts about 30 seconds. After the episode, she cries, whimpers, and eats for about 10 minutes. Then she is back to her normal playful self.

What is wrong?
Posted on 2008/02/17 by TraceyMilo has CRF, which is being treated at home with IV Fluids. I took him to the vet one week ago for a checkup and because he seems so boney. He has lost 2.5 lbs in a year and he has been sleeping alot lately. He has also been struggling with constipation for quite a few years and vomits often after he does poop. Since being at the vet one week ago, he hasn't pooped since that day, hasn't hardly eaten anything, vomited today with nothing in his stomach and he was been urinating in his kitty bed, which he has NEVER done. I have to wait until Monday to bring him back to the vet, but does anyone have any clue what is wrong with him? His bloodwork came back actually...
