I recently adopted a 5 year old dog. She is a mixed breed and I'm not sure what breeds she is. She is medium sized, about 60 lbs. Tonight she has been leaking urine. When I take her outside she doesn't need to go but she keeps leaving little spots of pee when she is laying down and she has been liking herself frequently. What could be wrong with her and what can I do?

Bath time for kitty
Posted on 2008/11/25 by UserI have a male cat who is almost a year old. He has long fur, and sometimes he makes a mees of his back end when he goes to the bathroom. Well, one day it was messier than most, and my boyfriend decided to give him a bath. Ever since that day the cat has refused to leave the corner in the kitchen, where he proceeds to urinate and deficate on himself all day. We brought the litter box into the kitchen hoping he would use it, but he won't. He hisses and growls at my boyfriend all the time, and is starting to get the same way with me and our other cat. I am thinking he may be traumatized from the bath, but now he needs one more than ever, and I feel too bad for him to do it....

My epileptic dog cries in pain...
Posted on 2008/11/29 by UserI have a young dog who suffers from cluster fits. He is on Phenobarb and KBr, but still has approx 4 fits a month. He had a bad cluster of fits four days ago, approx 9 in 24 hours, two of them severe. Since recovering, he appears to have lost some vision ( he loses me easily in the park) and he cries sporadically, for around 4 or 5 seconds at a time about 6 times a day. He doesn't appear to have any swelling or tender spots around his body. He has a huge appetite, and has exhibited some recent strange behavioural traits ( chewing cast iron fireplace/ his pottery food bowl). He drools alot, urinates very frequently and drinks compulsively.( Phenobarb side...

Urinary Problem?
Posted on 2008/12/04 by UserMy dog has been trained to let me know when she needs to go out. Normally, she will walk to the door and whine, if she isn't let out right away she will try to find someone and whine at them before walking to the door again to let them know that she has to go. Well, today she walked towards the door and just suddenly started going all over, and she unleashed about a gallon or more over a total of about around 30 feet. I do not think she had as much to drink as she urinated, I was wondering if this might be some sort of urinary infection, or if perhaps she might have just passed a kidney stone. I need to know if I should take her in to have her looked at and what it...

calcium oxylate stone removal surgery
Posted on 2008/12/05 by Usermy dog just had surgery to remove calcium oxylate stones about 3 weeks ago. she healed up nicely, and her attitude is great...she's active, eating fine, etc. However, she is still straining to urinate constantly! She walks and squats, and she is having accidents in the house. My doctor put her on Baytril (2nd round) after finding some bacteria over a week ago, but she isn't improving. Today, we did another U/A, and found some abnormal looking renal tubular cells, no bacteria, and 0-4 hpf RBC's. We sent it off to be cultured, but my concern is that it is something more serious? I am a CVT, and would love any suggestions, as my doctor is stumped as to what would make...

Frequent urination
Posted on 2008/12/09 by UserMy dog is 3 1/2 months old and is frequently urinating wherever she may be standing. We noticed it when she first came to our home and thought it might just be nerves from being placed into a new home. However, it started up again about two or three weeks ago. There isn't any blood in the urine and she doesn't seem to be in pain. When she goes she hold the position for what seems to be 3-4 minutes at a time and also will just pee while standing or while walking and not "assume the position." She probably goes 10-15 times a day. Is this natural to go so often or is there something more going on that we don't know?
