Sneezing

  • dental concerns

My 1 1/2 year old cat went to the vet for a teeth cleaning this morning after at her routine yearly exam it was discovered she had excessive tartar and plaque build up. A few minutes ago, the vet called to advise me to test for the feline leukemia virus as this may be a sign of the virus. Is this probable? What else may cause tartar buildup in such a young cat? She is playful, eats well, and no other signs of any diseases, does have some signs of crust around her nose though as if a runny nose. I have 3 other cats that are all 5 months older than her, and all indoor cats. Any advice? I'm going crazy waiting for the test results and her phone call!

  • Dog with watery eye

My 6 year old black lab is sick. She has one eye that waters continuously. The light bothers it and she won't let me touch it. She also has blood in her mucus. She has so much mucus that she is constantly snorting it and licking it off her nose. She sleeps all day and doesn't excited about anything anymore. She is losing weight and doesn't eat much. This has been going on for a month and the vet doesn't know what it is. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks.

  • Symptoms from vaccination?

We adopted a 10 week old kittens yesterday (5/24/08) from the local humane society. He had a distemper shot on 5/16/08 and tested negetive for feline luekemia. He was neutered on 5/23/08 without complications. Yesterday, (5/24/08)he was sneezing occassionally. Today, his sneezing is more frequent with occasional discharge and his eyes are watery. He is eating well and playing, but sneezing a lot and seems a little wheezy, though he is breathing through his nose, not his mouth. As it is a holiday weekend, I'm concerned about waiting until Tues. (5/27/08) to contact a vet. If this is, however, something that should be addressed immediately, I'd like to know so that...

  • My sneezy bunny

Why does my bunny sneeze so often? Her nose isn't necessarily running, but gets a bit crusty and tiny bits of green are stuck on her nose. She sneezes numerous times in a row. She's also very kissy, I hope it's her being loving and not her trying to tell me she's in trouble.

  • My 3 month old kitten has yellow discharge from his eyes. He has had the discharge for about two weeks and someone told me that it is common in kittens and nothing to be alarmed over so I wasn't worried... but for the last couple days he has a stuffed up runny nose especially when he wakes up from a nap. Now I'm starting to get a little worried. My other kittens left eye has some discharge but doesn't appear to be that bad. None of my adult cats have any symptoms. Can someone please tell me what this could be? Thanks

  • Last week, we had the tropical storm here in FL. My yard turned into a lake in some areas, and when we let the dogs out to go potty, they dove into the water to play like kids! 3 days later, my pom now coughs and sneezes. It's the end of the month and there's no money for a vet. Can I give him cough syrup or amoxcillian made for people? Will Benadryl help? Furby is 4 yrs old and about 12lbs. Thanks,

  • lumps!!!

  • Help

My dog has been intermittently listless and disinterested with clear drainage from the nose. Other times she is barking, running around chasing the cats and playing. She eats everything I feed her and has no toileting issues. Should I be worried? I have read about canine distemper and I'm afraid that she has it. I don't have alot of money for doctors or tests. Cuddles is a 5.5lb pomapoo and my best friend! Please help me

  • Cat w/ third eyelid showing

my 4 mo. old kitten has had his 3rd eyelid showing for about 4-5 weeks. He's frequently licking his bottom but I see no worms nor any in his stool. He has had a few loose stools with a little vomit as well. He's also much thinner than his sister. Now my other cats have their 3rd eyelid showing, upset tummies and sneezing. Vet at the animal shelter said nothing is wrong but my gut feeling is otherwise.
