We just adopted 2 cats from a shelter on Sunday. They are sneezing and one has a yellowish nasal discharge which is kind of thick. Both are eating, drinking, playing, and breathing normally. Please advise us on what to do.

Dog Colds?
Posted on 2008/02/26 by UserMy dog (adult, 3 yrs old) sounds like she is having problems breathing at night (she makes a lot of noises that sound like a person with a cold). Can she get a cold? Also, I've heard children's benyadral (sp?) can be used to help her symptoms? Is that true?

dental concerns
Posted on 2008/02/28 by UserMy 1 1/2 year old cat went to the vet for a teeth cleaning this morning after at her routine yearly exam it was discovered she had excessive tartar and plaque build up. A few minutes ago, the vet called to advise me to test for the feline leukemia virus as this may be a sign of the virus. Is this probable? What else may cause tartar buildup in such a young cat? She is playful, eats well, and no other signs of any diseases, does have some signs of crust around her nose though as if a runny nose. I have 3 other cats that are all 5 months older than her, and all indoor cats. Any advice? I'm going crazy waiting for the test results and her phone call!

Dog with watery eye
Posted on 2008/03/10 by UserMy 6 year old black lab is sick. She has one eye that waters continuously. The light bothers it and she won't let me touch it. She also has blood in her mucus. She has so much mucus that she is constantly snorting it and licking it off her nose. She sleeps all day and doesn't excited about anything anymore. She is losing weight and doesn't eat much. This has been going on for a month and the vet doesn't know what it is. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks.

Symptoms from vaccination?

He was neutered on 5/23/08 without complications. Yesterday, (5/24/08)he was sneezing occassionally. Today, his sneezing is more frequent with occasional discharge and his eyes are watery. He is eating well and playing, but sneezing a lot and seems a little wheezy, though he is breathing through his nose, not his mouth. As it is a holiday weekend, I'm concerned about waiting until Tues. (5/27/08) to contact a vet. If this is, however, something that should be addressed immediately, I'd like to know so that...
