  • breathing problems

My dog is 9 years old and has started breahing really hard and fast for about a month. I have taken him to 2 different vets they both say allergies. But the shots and medicine hasn't helped him. He has been eating a lot too lately and has gained weight. Just doen's feel good.

  • swollen nose

Yesterday, when I left for work he was fine when I came home his nose was swollen and he didn't want to eat but did. He and the other dogs have access through their dog door to the backyard that is fenced as well as their own room in the house when I'm at work. The nose appears to be swollen on one side and there is running of the nose and some sneezing. I gave him a benydrl last night and he seemed to rest easier. Do you think it could be a bug bit...there are numberous bees and wasps outside. I didn't see any puncture at the sight. He finally ate for fear the other dogs would eat his food but was resting most of the time. What should I do to care for him and how lo ...

  • Sneezing kittens

We got two 10 week old kittens from a local cat shelter (cats only) last Tuesday (9/2). Two nights ago, they started sneezing a few times an hour or so. I have not noticed any discharge from their noses, but from their breathing it does sound like they have a stuffy nose. We keep them indoors all of the time and they are otherwise happy, playing, eating, sleeping, purring, etc. I am on the lookout for any abnormal behavior (lethargy, lack of appetite) but have not noticed any yet. I read through a couple other similar situations, could this be Cat Flu or allergies? If so, how long should I wait before consulting a vet? Could this go away on its own? Could it be r ...

  • Last week, we had the tropical storm here in FL. My yard turned into a lake in some areas, and when we let the dogs out to go potty, they dove into the water to play like kids! 3 days later, my pom now coughs and sneezes. It's the end of the month and there's no money for a vet. Can I give him cough syrup or amoxcillian made for people? Will Benadryl help? Furby is 4 yrs old and about 12lbs. Thanks,

  • My 3 month old kitten has yellow discharge from his eyes. He has had the discharge for about two weeks and someone told me that it is common in kittens and nothing to be alarmed over so I wasn't worried... but for the last couple days he has a stuffed up runny nose especially when he wakes up from a nap. Now I'm starting to get a little worried. My other kittens left eye has some discharge but doesn't appear to be that bad. None of my adult cats have any symptoms. Can someone please tell me what this could be? Thanks

  • Will she be okay?

We just recently got a dog from a shelter and she is a one year old Chihuahua terrier mix. Since I brought her home she has had pneumonia, kennel cough, urinary tract infection and four weeks ago above her eye became inflamed...than the next morning she had a huge lump on the side of her head that was hard! Brought her to the vet and they did the antibiotics, benadryl and steroid shot....brought her home...it got worse...brought her back, they changed antibiotics...thought it was from a bunch of bee stings. Than last week she ended up getting a bunch of lumps everywhere! We brought her in again and they said we would have to bring her to a specialist, so we did and th ...

  • My sneezy bunny

Why does my bunny sneeze so often? Her nose isn't necessarily running, but gets a bit crusty and tiny bits of green are stuck on her nose. She sneezes numerous times in a row. She's also very kissy, I hope it's her being loving and not her trying to tell me she's in trouble.

  • We adopted a 10 week old kittens yesterday (5/24/08) from the local humane society. He had a distemper shot on 5/16/08 and tested negetive for feline luekemia. He was neutered on 5/23/08 without complications. Yesterday, (5/24/08)he was sneezing occassionally. Today, his sneezing is more frequent with occasional discharge and his eyes are watery. He is eating well and playing, but sneezing a lot and seems a little wheezy, though he is breathing through his nose, not his mouth. As it is a holiday weekend, I'm concerned about waiting until Tues. (5/27/08) to contact a vet. If this is, however, something that should be addressed immediately, I'd like to know so that I ...

  • Curious

She has been drooling abnormaly today and I haven't seen a bowel movement in 24hrs. Seems to be avoiding water but no appetite loss. Also have noticed what appear to be little white (warts?) around vaginal area. Overly affectionate although she has started to start her spring shedding.
