Hi, my dog is a chihuahua/palmeranian and is 14 (non dog years) old. She had asthma her whole life, but now it seems to be worse. She is always making hacking noise, and looks like she hacking something up but nothing comes out. And just recently in the past 2 months or so, shes been getting what im guessing are seizures. When she gets excited about something, she starts like loosing her balance then falls over. She then arches her back and kicks her legs a little while breathing heavy. After like a minute or so she sits up and just sits there. I know shes pretty old and probally wont live much longer but is there anything I can do?
My 7 year old shih tzu started having seizures on Christmas eve. She is on phenobarbitol for them. The vet I saw said the most likely cause is a brain tumor. The last few days she is drinking a lot more than usual. She is also utinating and having frequent bowel movements.I had her out twice this morning. I had to go out and she urinated on the floor. This is highly unusual for her. It is occuring more often. My suspision is kidney failure. My question is. Is she suffering? She doesn't show signs of pain but is getting a little crabbier. She normally has a great disposition. Just a little spoiled. She has now started panting when she needs to go out. This she has never...
it was hot today and my dog was wrestling with another.shortly afterward he seemed like he couldnt find his balance, started drooling (he never drools) staggered back and forth for a bit, i picked him up and he was still trying to walk in place for a bit, walked in circles, knocked over his water bowl while walking slowly, slightly sideways, and seemed to be somewhere else. i thought he was seriously dying, but shortly thereafter, he started playing and running around normal. i found him on the highway about 6 months ago, and noone knows what breed he is, but is apparently about 12 or 13 years old.
choco was laying on the floor it appears as though he fell. he looked like he was having a siezure though had dry mouth. he was wiggling alot, i calmed him down by laying next to him on the bed petting him. after the next few which had time between of about 20 min of the same symptoms after witnessing what seems to be uncontrollable muscle spasm like you would see in a siezure there were groans from abdominal area right before hand right before the last two i tend to notice there was a stomach rumble that happened, in which made me believe he wasnt having siezures but it seemed like he was just in extreme pain which made him do the "fish" i walked him outside...
I have an approximately 10 year old biscon-poodle mix dog that is taking Proin Drops 25 mg. I give it to her twice a day. It seems to work most of the time, but sometimes she is still dripping. My question is, will this ever get better? Will she always need this medicine, and do I have to increase the amount I give her over time? Any side affects? She has seizures, (not severe enough to take meds) she is deaf, is now having trouble with her eye, and has had (last year) 14 teeth pulled. My poor little girl!! I would appricate your opinion. Thank You
jude suffered 2 fits at the weekend we called the vet who gave us advice until we took her to see them in the morning. she only suffered 1 fit before that was about 5 months ago after an injection for pain which after seeing the vet the next day was put down to the distress of the day before,on seeing the vet this time she was given a thorough examination and all tests for diabetes and liver came back good the vet gave us some reading material and medicine for her which she said would maybe make her a little groggy and would maybe need help getting up for a week or two until the medicine went through her system , we would just like a little more advice before we start...
My husband and I got a Siberian Husky from a pet store 4 weeks ago. She seemed sick since the day we got her, we thought it was because she was stressed. She had diarrhea. We took her to the vet several times because we didn’t want her to get dehydrated. He put her on some different meds. Nothing helped. Wednesday night (30th of January) she started to act really freaked out and crying so we thought she was in pain. We took her to the vet on Thursday and she started to have many of seizures in one hour, at this time I was balling because I didn’t know what was going on. The vet took her home to his house overnight to watch her. He called Friday and said he...
Our cat, Courage, has been in good health for the 6 years we have had him. He is playful, muscular and in good shape. He eats all the time, has a shiny coat, etc. Today, out of nowhere, he laid down adn shook for about 15 seconds. After the shaking, he stiffened for about 20 seconds more. He has done this three times since in the past few hours. As soon as the seizure is over, he runs off and plays like nothing happened. Any ideas?
I have a Boxer around ten years old that has started coughing and hacking stuff up and the other day he had what we think was a seizure. Took him to vet but cant find anything wrong except some black in his lung e-ray. They said toput him down. Before we do that we want to make sure their are no other alternatives
