This will be long, but any ideas of what this could be will help us so much!! Bubba is a very healthy dog, very active and a great weight (a little on the thin side even). He is a Pekingese (3years old) and has never had anything like this happen before. Here is what happened. I slept in Monday morning and woke up to diarrhea in the bathroom. It was a fair amount and some of it was very runny. Also, it seemed like Bubba may have struggled with it because it was in several places. I didn’t think much of it, however I did notice Bubba doing this weird thing. He kept sitting down a lot and was acting like it hurt him to do so. He would sit down very carefully...

Reason for collapse
Posted on 2008/02/12 by HendersonMy 14yr old male Brussles Griffon has gagging fits where he can't seem to breath and tries to hack up something but never has a discharge. He then loses control of his bowls and pees on floor and then his front legs weaken and he collapes and can't move for awhile. He eventually recovers enought to move but with difficulty. Doesn't hardly eat, licks his feet a lot, sleeps all the time and doesn't really want any attention. Doesn't seem to have a fever. Fits usually happen at night. I am very worried?

little kitten
Posted on 2008/06/02 by UserI have a 3 mo. kitten that something happened to him yesterday.I thought it was over heating cause I found him in my back yard in the sun. I cooled him down with a wet wash cloth. He is shaking very bad. Its like his nervous system has gone hay wire. He made it through the night and he responds to me when I call his name and when I hold him he purrs. He has drank some water and tried to eat. He has no diarrhea, and his bowel movements are pretty normal. All he does is shake badly. How can I help him.

Hypoglycemic Puppy Won't Eat After Nutri-Cal
Posted on 2008/08/30 by WendyWe got a 7 week old Yorkie puppy Tuesday. Wednesday she had to be taken to the vet with seizures. They believed it was hypoglycemia, perked her back up and said if she does it again come back. She started it again this morning so I took her back to the vet's office. Again, hypoglycemia. She ate just before we went to bed last night but sometime during the night this all came on. (She ate probably 5 times yesterday.) Food and water are left out so all she has to do is eat. Today they gave me a tube of Nutri-Cal and told me to give it to her every 30 minutes til she eats. That was about 11am, it's now almost 9pm and she still won't eat. Has only taken a sip or two of water...

shaking, possible fever
Posted on 2008/01/06 by UserA week ago my dog was released from the vetinarian hospital complete with sonograms and blood tests indicating an enlarged liver and spleen. The doctor said that his platelets were low in amount as well, but two days after being discharged from the hospital, we took him back to the hospital, and the doctor infromed us that his platelet levels were normal again. After recovering he was fine for the last two days, but today he showed symptoms of shaking and heavy breathing again. He's been taking the antibiotics "antirobe" and "baytril chewable", but he seems to be reverting back to his previous state. He also seems feverish; his ears are very warm....

??Brain tumor
Posted on 2008/01/24 by DMy 15 year old Bichon is blind s/p unsuccesful cataract surgery; now deaf - unknown cause; has started barking and wanting something 2-5 times each night. We finally figured out he wanted food - then drinks of water - then to go out He had a grand mal seizure after being upset about getting dried after a bath, none observed except that one. He paces constantly, had a motor deficit episode this weekend that seems to have resvoled except for odd head tilt movements - almost like Tourettes! I am thinking brain tumor - any thoughts?? Diane

seizzures and medication
Posted on 2008/02/08 by Rosemarymax has seizures and fits, he is on medication and is suppose to eat before taking medication. Is it ok to give him milk to coat his stomach before taking the medication. The medication makes him vomit if he does not eat something first. I am also considering having him tested for lead. The medication is not working very well.
