  • What killed my cat?

I would apprecieate any ideas on what might have killed my cat of 8 yrs. He was a In and outdoor cat, via a doggy door. Had been all his life. Moved to Okmulgee Oklahoma in 10-05. "Key", his name, absolutely loved his new fenced yard, birds, bunnies etc. Often brining in his "kill" for my purview. He was current on all preventative shots. On late eve of June 6th,06, I found him extrememly lethargic. Time was after midnight, I thought I wait till morning. In the morning he was almost comatose. Took him to a nearby vet, the front desk person said that she didn't feel that much could be done, but when the attending vet returned I would get a phone call. Until the vet...

My chocolate lab is 14 and has polyneuropathy in his rear legs. He is on tramadol 100 mg 2x a day and rymadyl 2 x day. He is getting worse, heavy panting, falls often, struggles to rise, but still eats and wants to be where I am. When wil I know?

  • Dizzy is a 16 year old female dog that has not been spayed and never had a litter. She has an enlarged vulva and her hind legs give out sometimes. She eats well and drinks routinely. Her urine is normal, no blood. When we gave her a bath yesterday she couldn't move her hind legs, especially the right one for about 10 minutes. But she wagged her tail and tried to walk around. She also had shortness of breath and kept caughing. I held her for the 15minutes and dried her hair with a towel and a low level blow dryer. What's wrong?

hi, this will be long, but i am scared. my pug has been fine until this friday. she came in heat around aug. 7, tried to keep her and male pug seperated. my son let them both out at the same time to go to take care of normal business when we got home. this was aug. 12 and i caught them. everything has been fine till now. first notice small clear wet spots on floor with a blood clot in them. four on one day, two the next day. she was still happy and full of energy. then noticed she was trembling, and then there was urine in blood. at first she dranked alot, now the only thing i can get her to drink is watered down milk with a egg in it.(i hope this safe) lost her appetite...

  • My dog is approx 16 y/o. He is part yellow lab and maybe chow or pit,(Vet said part german sheperd and y/lab but I don't see it) He has started having seazures (Falls down, Muscles get stiff, sometimes he cries out, pee's a little sometimes) about once every 3 to 4 weeks. Otherwise he has a good quality of life. #1 Vet said put him down cause of age, but he is still in pretty good shape, (only had conversations with, as he knows Im disabled and on SS and cant afford alot) He also told me it would be expensive to find out what the issue is!! So the main question I have is there something HOMEOPATHIC, or a old wifes tale cure I might try? My dad is telling me to mix a...

  • Our dog had distemper a year ago, and was very sick, lost control of back legs for a few weeks. She appeared to recover last year, then about 2 months ago, she seemed to have a relapse. She got weak in the back legs again, not nearly as bad as last time but now she is having trouble holding her poops at night. The vet says she had "poor tone" in the sphincters, ie. weak. She has been pooping in the house at night and eating it. I can tell as there are brown smudges on the carpet. How can I help her regain the muscle tone in her sphincter so she can hold her poops at night ? Also what's a good method for discouraging her from eating poop....

  • Very sick cat

I have a 14 yr old female cat who has slowly quit eating and drinking. We switched her from hard food to soft food about 1 1/2 weeks ago because she wouldn't eat much and was throwing up what she did eat. She was still drinking plenty of water. That worked for a couple of days but the she started throwing up again and now she will not eat much at all. I know she is hungry because she sits by her bowl. I have tried many kinds of food but she will not eat. The only thing she had yesterday was a very small bowl of milk. I took her to the vet last week and she has been on antibiotics for 1 week now but they don't seem to be helping. She does not seem to be in pain...
