In October of 2008, I brought my pit bull, Irish and by December he was chasing his tail. Over time, the tail chasing turned into chewing. I have been working with two different vets since January 2009 re: this issue and have spent about a thousand dollars trying to easy the pain of my dog. Irish has been put on antibiotics, anxiety medication, and a sedative. He was also treated for mange. We have gone through a number e-collars and other types of collars that are supposed to prevent him from being able to reach his tail. I do work during the day, about 8 hours. I also have two other dogs in the home a Jack Russell & a Lab/ pit mix. All the dogs are outside...

Posted on 2009/07/09 by UserMy 15year old (approximate age since she was a stray) German Shepard, went out to pee and it looked to me like her urine had a tint of red in it. What could it be and should I take her to her vet, which is closed right now. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Back legs not strong
Posted on 2009/07/10 by UserHi. I have a Chow-Chow mix, 10 years old, who since late Wednesday night has been having problems walking . His back legs don't appear to be strong enough right now... he can stand but only for a few moments. He still has an appetite and still drinks water. He has only gone partially to the bathroom the last few days (today he pooped, but while lying down). He has been taking pills since late last week for his kidney's. He went for a walk on Tuesday in the park. Today we started giving himTramadol which we were told will help relieve his inflamation and pain. What should I do? Should I seek further help for him? Thank you.

I took him back out a little later, but still nothing. His back was still hunched as if he was still trying to go. So eventually we went to sleep, but woke this morning to find that he had vomitted. When i tried to retrieve him from under my bed he snapped and slightly bit my hand! At first i thought he might just be constipated but now i think it may be something far more than constipation! Now he is in the restroom, he wont come out, eat drink, NOTHING! As if this isn't sad enough, we haven't the funds to take him to a vet, but at...
