9 month old chihuahua wont' bear weight...
Posted on 2009/05/17 by UserMy 9 month old Chihuahua was jumping around two days ago and suddenly began holding up his left rear paw. He did not squeal. I have manipulated the knee/hock area but he seems tender in the akle/foot/toe area instead. I am restricting his movement and giving him 1/2 baby aspirin 2x/day. There is no visual deformity and little, if any swelling. He is still getting around fine on three legs, seems happy, not in great pain, eating, drinking and eliminating fine. Does this suggest just a sprain, am I doing the right thing?

Anal glands- pom in pain
Posted on 2009/05/17 by UserMy pom woke up wed. morning not wanting to walk. We took him to the vet and they expressed his anal glands. They said that they were infected. He is currently taking antibiotics and we go back may 30th for a check up. He has been doing fine until about an hour ago. He started yelping while he was lying down, then when I picked him up he yelped any louder. I think that it is hurting him again. Is there anything I can do for him? Will this just have to run its course?

Her whole body will unexpectedly become red, inflamed, swollen and itchy. Her body temperature feels hot to the touch as if she has a fever. Her underside ( the entire chest, belly and legs) are the most affected areas. Her chest, belly and legs will become so irritated that the skin in those areas will turn a reddish purple from being so inflamed. There is no obvious cause for this. She will feel fine for months and then her skin will unexpectedly become irritated. The symptoms are always the...
