Pain

  • Hi. I am concerned about one of my cats, Sunny. We are unsure of his age, but he was a full-grown cat when he wandered into our lives 5 1/2 years ago. At that time, the vet thought him to be 3-5, and he was already neutered, but obviously had lived on the street for some time. He's had various health problems over the years, but the most recent began New Year's Day (No, no parties here.). At first we would see the following behavior maybe a couple of times a week--but now it's many times, daily. He either wakes up and does this, or yawns and does this, or just suddenly does this: He opens his mouth part way and sort of trembles, like cats do when they...

  • kidney problems?

I have a female cat who's brother died a little over a year ago with a blockage (kidneys). She has been going downhill ever since. She is anorexic now, you can see her bones. She refuses the litter box (has made my daughter's bed her litter box). I rarely see her eat much, she does drink a lot of water. She is still loving but the last couple of days she has just wanted to lay around. Is she about to pass away like my male did?

  • Shepard moaning when lays down

I have an 8 yr old German Shepard who moans and groans when he goes to lay down. He was already diagnosed with arthiritis to the lower part of his spine. He is on Glucosamine at this time. My friend heard about older horses that were put out to pasture being given Vitamin E gel capsules and they got healhier and were moving around like younger horses. Would Vitamin E help my dog with this problem and give him some relief?

  • split toe nail

My dog cracked his nail upwards and it bleeds when he walks outside. He does not allow me to soak/cut/trim or any other such thing with his paws and so I need to know what my options are and an estimate of how much it might cost me.

  • We just came back from a visit to my parents farm where my indoor cat had contact with their two outdoor cats. She is meowing excessively and loudly, keeps grooming herself, especially around her bottom. In the day we came back she was throwing up too. What could be wrong?

  • Post surgery infection on Paws

I had my pet declawed - When he came home his wounds were open and seeping blood/puss -He was returned to the vet and restiched (at no cost to me) - He still is in pain, and has infected paws - They are hot, swollen, and painfull to him... Is there any at home recomendations for drawing out the infection? I think the vet botched this one up so, how should I handle the vet if he is to go back in for treatment?

  • My yorkie has been acting lethargic, shaking and whining. I am really worried he is hurt or sick but I can't tell exactly what is wrong with him. He's also not running around and playing like he normally does and is snapping at the other dog. He was fine this morning, but it's now 5 pm and my husband says he's been like this since he came out of his crate at 9:30 this morning. What should I do?

  • constipation

My dog is constantly squatting and cannot seem to have a bowl movement for days at a time. His rear-end is swollen and he urinates uncontrollably. I have given him laxatives but it only seems to cause more problems. Does he have a colon problem?
