Pain

  • is my cat sick?

Last night several times one of my cats made a weird noise(I'm sorry, I don't know how to describe it) that he'd never made before. Today he has been lying in one of the litter boxes throughout the day. He has never done this before. I don't think he has eaten anything today. I found regurgitated food (undigested) this morning. He let me pick him up but seemed tense. What should I do or watch for? He let me touch his extremities and pet him and I didn't find anything unusual.

  • concern about other pets

we recently lost bubba suddenly. should I be worried about my other pets.

  • My pet has been scratching like crazy since Mid January. Feb 1st, we brought her to the vet, they told us that she had a puppy acne of sorts, gave us medication and sent us home. 4 Days later, our dog was whimpering so much when she itched.. and the itching was non stop. She has little crusty circle on her ears and parts of her face.. and the more she itched the worse it got. So- they gave us Ivermecin (sp) for Sarcopties Mites.. then2 weeks after that, the itching had resolved a bit, but she was now biting her paws so bad they were bleeding and open. So-- we brought her again to the ER she was placed on Celphlexin (sp) and we were told to continue w/ the Ivermecin....

  • she has lost her appetite and when she does eat a little bit, she throws it up a couple of hours later. She has thrown up three to four times on the third day. She is having a hard time to stand up. When she's lying down, her limbs shake. Yesterday we found worms in her feces so we gave her medication for worms. We adopted her from our next door who had to move away and subsequently found out that she has mammary tumors, three of them. They're growing faster. We can't afford the medical care. My question is are these health problems she's having as a result of the worms she might be infested with or has she reached the end of her life as a result of her tumors?

  • Lower back pain

Recently, I have noticed when picking up my cat he will hiss. When I rub my fingers/hand across his back it flutters and it's not tolerable. Lately, he has diarrhea, not sure if related. Can you advise/

  • Sick Cat

I have a 4 year old domestic indoor cat she is usually a very lively cat about 5 days started showing signs of being very lethargic, we haven't seen her go to the food or water dish she wont get off the bed at all. She just lays there looking very sad. There are no running eyes or nose no drooling, just very lethargic. I've been giving her droppers of water so that she at least is getting that. She is urinating normally no change in color or smell. She gets very aggitated if you attempt to pick her up like she is in pain. I feel so helpless, I don't know what to do to help her, I really can't afford a Vet visit any idea on what may be wrong?

  • My Bubbles (pit-hound mix) is 7 years old. Recently she saw our family vet and was given Deramaxx 75mg chewable tab, to be broken in half and given every 24 hours. Since she has taken this her condition has worsened. Our vet told us that she probably has mild arthritis and this should help. Now when she walks she take very tiny "baby steps" on her front legs. She also has been very withdrawn from doing anything at all and would rather lay on our bed all day and all night. she only comes out for water, food and bathroom. We havent been giving her the pills everyday. only when we see that her pain is elevated. We didn't want to have to use pain pills later in...

  • Paw Bleeding

I left my him outside all day yesterday in 15 degree weather & when I got home he came in with both of his back paws bleeding & he's limping around today & acting really moping -which is very unlike him to not be frisky. It appears that is right back paw was hurt between one of his tows & has stopped bleeding today -left back paw was injured by his big pad & between one of the toes. What can I do to help him? Is there any real concern with infection? He also has a clump of fur taken out by his neck - but no bleeding - I didn't see it last night, so either I missed it or he did that overnight.

  • This is an update to the previous question that I had asked. Our Vet called and had posted Bubbles' X-rays to a website for other vets to look at. They said the Rad's showed no abnormalities and one tiny area where there is arthritis near the tip of her tail. Other than that it all looked great. Since my last question she has started dragging her left hind leg a little bit which prompted the X-rays which were taken on 3/11/08. And when we woke up this morning to give her a morning pain pill we noticed that she is starting to drag her other hind leg as well. Just not as bad as the left side. She has now stopped taking the Deramaxx and is now taking Tramadol 50mg every 8...
