Hello, we adopted our chocolate lab in november 2007. Part of the agreement was to get her spayed. This was done in February 2008. She was 32 kilos. She was 38 when we adopted her (obviously overweight) A few months later she started bleeding. I took her straight to the vets who were confused. She was put on anti-biotics which went on for 4 months. Then they put a camera up to see if there was any ovarian tissue or a tumor that was causing it. There wasn't anything. The same vet has done these two procedures. Now we tried blood tests as a last resort as she is no longer friendly towards other dogs, appears to be in season to males, and is also bleeding irregulary. The...

Spaying gone wrong
Posted on 2009/02/10 by Jenny -
My other cat (2years, about 3) sometimes goes through seizures. I know when he is about to go through one, he starts acting very sweet and loving, and all he wants is pets, and he also rolls much much more. He does this about 3 or 4 days before he has to go though the seizure. At first, when he was younger, he would only go through one seizure, but now, sometimes he has to go through 2. I can't tell you the exactly when he is ganna go through one, but I do know when he is about to. When he is in his seizure I try to come him down, by petting him, telling him its going to be okay. Is this good? Also, when he is going through these seizures, he slobbers, and he urinates on...

Possible fever?
Posted on 2009/03/06 by Useri have a 9 yr old choc lab who has been drinking a lot of water lately. Recently I've noticed the top of her head is warm and her nose is warm. She at times walks around panting and while at rest seems to be breathing harder than normal. Is is possible she has a fever?

Is it an allergy?
Posted on 2009/03/07 by AlexandriaMy one cat Reeses, is constanly licking and biting the lower back near his tail. He sometimes has loose stools, and his fur has thinned out around his backend. Also, as you pet his lower back, he bites and licks, you almost as a spasium. Most importantly he is 3 years old and weighs between 16 and 18 pounds. Could this be an allergy, or is it because of his weight?

Sudden Feline Death
Posted on 2009/03/16 by UserWe have a male cat that is approximately 4.5 years old and last night he died suddenly. We heard a noise and thought it was him jumping off furniture as usual and upon finding him he let out a breath and died. There were no warning signs. His diet, bathroom habits and demeanor had no change. He was somewhat overweight about 13 pounds. However, in the last few days he felt heavier but we just though maybe he gained another pound. Do you have any ideas as to what might have happened to him. We really do not want to have then cut him to examine him. We also have a 9 week old puppy could this been a factor? Should I have any concerns for the puppy?

Is it an allergy
Posted on 2009/03/17 by AlexandriaHi, my name is Alexandria and I am 14 years old. I have a cat named Reeses, and he has been acting wierd lately. He eats more, has gained weight, pulls his fur out and grooms it more than often by his lower back right before his tail. He has occasional diarrhea, scratches more than usual, goes to the bathroom in places like my bed or the floor (which he has never done before), and he is about 3 1/2 years old. My cat also meows non-stop. When you touch his back where he pulls his fur out, he starts to lick or bite somthing, almost like a spasim. Is he allergic to somthing? I need to know because right now we can't afford a vet.
