  • Biting other dogs

We adopted Carmen from a shelter about 2 years ago so we don’t know her History. She is normally a well behaved dog with people and our other dog. When we try and socialize Carmen while on walks she becomes aggressive. She shows no sign (no growling or snapping) of Aggression until another dog is within biting range. Then she attacks, going for the face or throat. I’ve trying sitting her down and holding head in my hands as other dogs approach, but she still tries to attack. Can you offer any advice to help Carmen be a more social dog? Our other dog is very social and loves to meet other dogs.

  • is my gerbil pregant

Well heres my gerbil story. i have 3 gerbils and one noticably started getting bigger. not neessarily in the tummy but never the less, big. then she built a nest. so i took the other 2 to the petsmart and found out that one of my 3 supposedly "girl" gerbils is a male. its been bout 2 weeks since the nest but she doesnt look pear shaped. could she just not be "ballooning out"?

  • Hi, my cat is an older female cat. She has been vomitting a lot lately and is pretty large and has been that way for awhile, but she has lost a bit of weight. Today she vomitted again, not hairball vomit, clearly a different type. She also had a painful area on her back when petting her and this morning I noticed all the hair has fallen out and I'm pretty sure it wasn't of her own cause, but there is also a black spot and a bunch of red scabs. The area without hair is probably a little smaller than a quarter. Her personality is also somewhat different. SHe is a loving and happy cat, but not very playful and never has been. Lately, while sitting near her, if you move...

  • Obese Beagle

Thanks for your response to my answer awhile back. It was helpful but the vet has totally changed his diet and still no results after 2 months. Mind you where I live the weather doesn't help as its been too cold to walk him at the moment so I've had to resort to playing with him indoors & do walks when the windchills are decent. Niko is now on MEDICAL Fibre to help with his weight loss. The vet has him eating once a day with 1 cup dry (I have cut it down to 1/2 cup) and 1/2 can wet (I have reduced it to 1/4 can). He can at most times eat all and other times can not so I leave what is left in his bowl so he can finish it off. The vet also found high amounts of...

He has been sleeping on his back and the past week he doesn't like laying on his back. he sleeps on his side or on his belly. he doesn't want to get up in the mornings and when he does he is whimpering and keeps his head tilted down. he is also swallowing alot. what could this be?

  • Smelly ear + one crusty dew pad

My pomeranian has been sad and lethargic for a few days now, she has a bad smelling ear in one ear (I have cleaned it with a q-tip and vinegar now) but she also has crusty white-ish colored paw pad on just her bottom dew claw pad. I have never noticed this about her before (her paw). Does anyone know anything about this?

  • What can I do for my cats skin to help treat and prevent pet dander, "dandruff"?
