No appetite & anorexia

  • Intestinal problem

My mother has an English Bulldog named Bud who ate beef sparerib bones over the weekend and now Bud has lost his appetite and is unable to go to the bathroom. My mother took him to our local vet and they gave him an enima, which helped his situation but did not remove the bones. After the enima, they x-rayed him and still saw the mass of bones. They sent Bud home hoping that either the bones would dissolve or that he would pass them. Our vet said that performing surgery would be out of the question due to the fact that Bud is on the medicine predizone and he is also overweight. Is there anything that we can do to speed up the process of dissolving the bones? Any...

  • Concerned

Timber is showing the following symptoms: excess salivation, listlessness, not eating, he wants to be left alone where it's quiet. I don't have transportation to take him to the vet and he seems somewhat better today than he was last night, could you help me by telling me what I should be looking for to know he is okay?

  • ideas for max

My 7yr 62lb golden Max went to the vet 10days ago with symtoms of not eating, shaking, hind legs seem painful. He has trouble getting up and going down stairs and bending down to go to the bathroom. They took Xrays and he did show a very small amt of arthirtis in lower back and in hips but nothing major. They also did a blood test and all of his organs showed in good health. He has been on antibiotics and rymidal since and it seems like nothing has changed. He will seem like he feels better for a few hours and then we are right back to where we were. I have another appt for him this week but is there anything you can think of that I can bring up to his vet to check...

  • older cat not eating

14 yr old female cat not eating well. Seems hungry and shows interest in food, but extremely picky, only nibbles at best. Has been to vet's 3 times in past two weeks -- complete bloodworkup was negative, complete xrays show possible fluid in left chest cavity, ultrasound results pending. Doctor says probable heart condition or tumor, neither of which can be treated. Other than the problem with her hardly eating at all, she is absolutely normal otherwise -- content, purring, affectionate, bathing, urinating, defecating. How can I get her to eat? She has had a B12 injection, too.
