  • older cat not eating

14 yr old female cat not eating well. Seems hungry and shows interest in food, but extremely picky, only nibbles at best. Has been to vet's 3 times in past two weeks -- complete bloodworkup was negative, complete xrays show possible fluid in left chest cavity, ultrasound results pending. Doctor says probable heart condition or tumor, neither of which can be treated. Other than the problem with her hardly eating at all, she is absolutely normal otherwise -- content, purring, affectionate, bathing, urinating, defecating. How can I get her to eat? She has had a B12 injection, too.

  • Dog with watery eye

My 6 year old black lab is sick. She has one eye that waters continuously. The light bothers it and she won't let me touch it. She also has blood in her mucus. She has so much mucus that she is constantly snorting it and licking it off her nose. She sleeps all day and doesn't excited about anything anymore. She is losing weight and doesn't eat much. This has been going on for a month and the vet doesn't know what it is. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks.

  • puppy failing

I have a 3 month old chihuahua puppy that I adopted 2 weeks ago from a rescue shelter. He was great for the first few days and then started losing weight. I took him back to ask her for her advice and she sent him home with albon and amoxicillin and vitamins and asked me to keep her informed about him. I took him to the vet 2 days later and the vet told me to take him off the antibiotics and put him on a stronger one, to keep giving him the vitamins and Pedialyte as well. he''s also on hills science diet which I''ve been mixing with a little water and feeding with a syringe. He''s not eating or drinking on his own; everything he gets is with a syringe. He''ll walk a...

  • Too many symptoms

My 6year old baby (Chiefers) hasn't been doing well since I left home. My mother called after she took him into a vet - the Doctor wasn't in so he saw the intern. He came back with these symptoms.. Slightly enlarged heart and liver, extremely high blood count, high enzyme, spine problem, he lost 20% of his body mass, he wont eat only drinks water but it doesn't seem like he swallows it, hes running into walls and can't clear a door-way, and the x-rays showed a spot in his stomach. But the intern knew NOTHING. I'm in Alaska, he's in California.. He's NEVER had a health problem and all of this happens at once, this isn't a dog, he's my baby boy. I haven't the slightest...

  • Persian with urinary blockage

my persian male cat who is 5 years old had a urinary blockage and i had to take him to a emergency vet hospital last night who put in a cathater to remove particles. He was clear after the 2nd flush and they told me that they recommend a fluid treatment but I had already spent way too much and basically took him home to take care of him. They removed the catheter the next morning and gave me some canon royal to feed him and told me to put water out all over the house. So when we got home he peed alittle and then ate a tiny bit of the wet food but has barely drank any water. He's very upset and hasn't been trying to get any attention. He also looks a bit tired. So what...
