What could you give a dog for itching and pain, just to help throught the night. He's going to the vet in the morning, but he has a rash and trouble walking on one of his paws, and it looks like something gooky, like neosporin is on his paw.

My older cat has stopped eating.
Posted on 2009/09/05 by UserOur 17 year old cat has stopped eating and sleeps most of the time. She has lost a significant amount of weight. She has always been very healthy but now I think she is in the process of dying. We don't want to have her put down, we would like her to die at home with us. Is there a time frame once she has stopped eating?

how can look after my sick gerbil until...
Posted on 2009/09/08 by UserMy 2 1/2 year old gerbil has been acting very strange for the last day. He is usually very active and curious but has suddenly lost his appetite, isn't drinking much, is spending all day in his bed with his eyes 3/4 closed and i think he's breathing heavier than normal. Please help, he won't even eat sunflower seeds. I don't think he has diarrhea but i dont know how to check for this. He also has epilepsy. I wll be taking him to the vet later but my mum will be out until the evening. what can i do to care for him until she gets back?

She stopped eating about a day and a half ago, now has saliva or drooling intensly, weight loss, she will not eat or drink and is moving very slowly. Also one strange thing, as she is an outside dog, the mesquitos & gnats are swarming her. We don't know what to do and do not have the money for a vet. Please help. My cat won't eat
Posted on 2009/09/18 by UserMy kitty Opal has lost interest in her food and will only eat very small amounts. She's done this before, and always suddenly gone back to her food, but in the past it's only lasted a day or two. This time, it's been several days. We can get her to eat a little by licking food off of our fingers, but she loses interest in the food very quickly, no matter what flavor or texture varieties we try. She had been drinking water, although I am not sure whether she had any...
