  • Not eating and Jaundiced

We have a 7 y/o female cat that hasn't hardly eaten any food in 2 weeks and drinks just enough to barely keep hydrated. She's been tested for FIV and Leukemia and is neg., her blood work shows a low white blood cell count and slightly impaired liver function. She was given a routine of antibiotics earlier and recently a anabolic steroid shot to try to help with her appetite. She tries to drink and is able to a little, but her attempts at food are worse now and she is showing jaundice around the ears and the gums. She's skin and bones and does try to do her normal activities, just has no energy. I have some Nutri Cal and am debating on whether to try to force feed...

  • Problems following castration.

I really hope you can help with this. On thursday we took our dogs to be neutered, one was absolutely fine no problem. My dog, Monkey, has changed completely - he was biting at his stitches at the vet so they gave him a collar - which caused him stress so we took it off. Monkey is just over 6 months and a shih tzu, he used to be off a nervous disposition but through walks and socialisation he seemed a lot more like his outgoing brother who we also own. Monkey apparently had both testicles moved so his was to be the simple straightforward operation. Friday morning we asked for some painkillers as he seemed to be in pain. Anyway in spite of these painkillers...

  • please help me! unwell puppy

Hi Dr. I just bought Bebinha last thursday. She's an angel. Today she hasn't eaten anything or drank any water, she pooped twice kinda diarrhea, and she has this weird cough like if she were choking with hair but there's nothing (it happens like every 20 min). I'm very worried. I tried taking her to an animal hospital but all of them are closed. What should I do... she's not complaining, just laying down (that's all she's done today). Please help me!

  • guinea pigs (not sadie)

Every time we get guinea pigs (we always get 2) they live for a few months maybe a year and they die. They don't eat or drink much if at all, their eyes become dull and sink in and they eventually lay on their side with shallow breathing. They blead through their but as we discover when we go to burry them. They got clened out every 3 days. We have a rabbit inside as well as Zebra Finches and a dove. They all are in one room. We tried disenfecting the cage and even let it sit for a year and a half before getting any more. Our rabbit isn't affected at all. Any ideas what might be happening and is ther any point to getting new ones?
