So Samson my 5 year old Boxer has gotten himself hives. They started on his head, gave him benedryl and they have moved down to his neck and onto his body. All in all the hives seem under control, and I am thankful for it... however I do have a question. Would it be a good idea to give him a bath right now? We do not know how he got hives, thinking it was a spider bite becuase he hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary and I've feilded plenty of bee stings. My concern about bathing is twofold. One he hates water. I do not want to shock him mentally with the process of bathing because he really does not like it water. Two, the shampoo. I do not want to irritate...

I have a pet rat who is about 18 months old, yesterday I noticed that her left front paw is swollen and she is keeping it hitched up. If she knocks it it isn't really bothering her but she is not using it at all. It is slightly red but very swollen to about 3 times its normal size. Any idea what it could be, is it common or do you think I need to take her to see somebody? Thanks.
