My cat has a large bump on his head that keeps oozing out clear-ish white puss. It has been like this for atleast two weeks and it was also like this last year. Have any idea what it is? We thought it might be from a cat fight but this happening twice around the same time of year began to raise my suspicions that it was something else. Have any idea what it is?

Is my cockatiel eggbound or does she have a tumor?
Posted on 2009/11/08 by UserMy pet cockatiel has had a history of laying infertile eggs, about 4 eggs per clutch. However yesterday I noticed that she has a large bump about the size of a large marshmallow on her back near her tail feathers. I am wondering if she is eggbound, has a tumor or what and what I should do.

Cat with cancer, what to expect.
Posted on 2009/11/10 by UserMy cat was just diagnosed with mammary gland adenocarcinoma (which had spread to a lymph node), which had also spread to a lymph node. My vet estimates 12-21 months to live. She is 13 years old. Can you please tell me what to expect as far as her activity level, symptoms, deterioration, etc. as the condition worsens? I want to prepare myself, know what to look for, how to make her the most comfortable, etc. Also are there any dietary changes I should make? or additional nutrients that might be helpful as she goes through this? She is 13 years old. Thank you. My first pet and just don't want to see her suffer.

Constipation or Pregnancy?
Posted on 2009/11/12 by DominiqueI've had my dog for about two years, and she's had issues with constipation before, but she has never been like this. Recently she has gotten to where she whines as if in pain when anyone touches her from the waist down..petting her, touching her, or even if she sees someones hand there. She wont eat anything at all..not even meat or hotdogs(her favorite) She wont drink anything but milk. She also just lays on the bed, she wont move and if we nudge her to get her to move she whines and cries. She has not "done her buisiness" her about two days but before those two days she was happy and fine. Could she be pregnant or just constipated again?

Female guinea pig in pain
Posted on 2009/11/13 by BevEllie has 4 babies with her and their almost 3 weeks old now, they are still taking milk but each time they do, she screams out in pain, her teats are swollen and a greeny color liquid is coming out, i think they are definatly infected, i rang my vet and they said that she will need antibiotics and a couple of injections, but i cant really afford taking her to the vet. So i tried cleaning it with salt water. I also seperated her from 3 of the baby boys and put her with the baby girl. The father of the babies is with the boys, he seems to be ok with them and the babies are still eating vegetables. what else can i do to stop it getting worse?

For the last few days my cat has been fine. Playing jumping being normal and frisky. Today he slept most of the day but I thought that was normal.... my mom came over to check his belly because I told her that he had a huge fat pouch or so I think it is.... and he cried and hissed at her. Then he jumped on the bed and he cries when we touch him or try to move him. I am really worried. I put him in a warm basket to lay in and he has not moved but one time and he just changed the side he was laying on. It seems like his abdomen is tender and it seems like it hurts him to put his hind legs down all the way. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow but I just want to know...

My dogs' surgery
Posted on 2009/11/16 by UserMy dog recently had a lump removed from his front leg (near the armpit) and is due to have the stitches removed in just under 2 weeks, however since returning home with him I have noticed the area has become flaccid and almost wobbles from side to side as if it is filled with pus, is this natural or should I take him back to the vet? He is taking an antibiotic daily which I would assume would have reduced the swelling but this has been ongoing for the last few days since the surgery date.

Snake bite on a min. dachshund
Posted on 2009/11/19 by AlexisMy mom's dog, Pepper a 3 yr old min. dachshund, was snake bit on Sunday. She showed no symptoms, at first, just some swelling. Now, 3 days later, she has a big hole on her side that is draining puss & smells horrible. I have called several vets & clinics. None will treat her without money up front, which my mom doesn't have. She is currently giving Pepper amoxicillin, benedryl, & baby aspirin. Is there anything else she could do to treat her dog at home?
