While attempting a tick removal from my dog's neck I failed to remove the head of the tick. It has been two weeks since this happened, and someone just informed me this might be very dangerous. There is a little bump where the tick was. How worried should I be? What steps should I take, if any?

Squamous cell carcinoma in my dog's eyelid
Posted on 2009/09/15 by ErinMy dog was diagnosed with a "squamous cell carcinoma" in her eyelid. I noticed it growing just last week, took her into the vet Saturday, and was told the news today, Tuesday. I'm doing research online, and I've found varying reports. Some say that the survival rate after excision of the tumor is one year, but others say that excision could be completely curative. My dog's tumor is the size of a small wart, smaller than a pea. It grew starting Monday of last week, so it's the eighth day that it's noticeable. In a typical case of squamous cell carcinoma, what is the prognosis if the tumor is confined to the eyelid area?

Posted on 2009/09/19 by UserPorkchop (2yo Bulldog) started over 2 weeks ago w/ severe vomiting out of nowhere. Lead to coughing up mucous, sometimes bloody, and then a bad nosebleed in his sleep. He aspirated and got pneumonia- put on 2 antibiotics for stomach irritation & pneumonia. Ran blood and found elevated liver enzymes. Also slight anemia. He got much better, and seemed fine. We ran blood again and bile acid to be sure- enzymes still elevated but lower than before, and the bile acids were high- anemia was gone. Vet suggested liver being damaged by phenobarbital & potassium bromide, which he has been on for epilepsy since 4 months. Made appt. to see neurologist next week to make...

HORSE MAJOR ISSUE

I bought a tail guard and used it while he was travelling but it didn't work. I am at my wits end and very worried for him. PLEASE PLEASE HELP HIM & ME

my dog is a 5year old boxer. we got up on monday to find her with a swollen face and bumps like hives all down her head and body. Our vet thought she had had an allergic reaction to something and gave her antihistamines. Her face swelling went down and her bumps went away but the bumps have been returning alot over the past few days, coming and going on their own and she keeps crying for no apparent reason. and then we got up today and her ears are swollen. whats wrong with her?

Throat lumps in my Kitten, very concerned.
Posted on 2009/09/23 by JessicaI have had my adopted 3 months old kitten Kalypso for a few days now, and just yesterday I noticed she has lumps on both sides of her throat, near her jaw. Since she currently has a cold that I am treating with doxy meds, I was wondering if the lumps may be her lymph nodes, and if they are swollen due to fighting the cold. PLEASE let me know if this could be a more serious problem, so I can address sooner than later.

Hamster mouth infection?
Posted on 2009/10/01 by UserI just recently got two hamsters, both male. One of them had what looked like an infection in the left corner of his mouth. I have been keeping an eye on it to see if it gets worse, but now the other hamster has developed the same thing on the left corner of his mouth. It doesn't seem to be affecting their eating or playing but I'm just a little concerned... Any help would be much appreciated!
