Yesterday, when I left for work he was fine when I came home his nose was swollen and he didn't want to eat but did. He and the other dogs have access through their dog door to the backyard that is fenced as well as their own room in the house when I'm at work. The nose appears to be swollen on one side and there is running of the nose and some sneezing. I gave him a benydrl last night and he seemed to rest easier. Do you think it could be a bug bit...there are numberous bees and wasps outside. I didn't see any puncture at the sight. He finally ate for fear the other dogs would eat his food but was resting most of the time. What should I do to care for him and how...

Advice on what to do
Posted on 2008/10/20 by UserI have a 9 year old Male Boxer. I've started noticing that he has tumors growing in various places on his body. Some are internal and are some are external such as one growing between the pads of his paw. He also has had a couple episodes of falling over and kind of seizing and having labored breathing and sometimes stops breathing for like 15 seconds maybe more. Does it sound like it's going to be an expensive problem if it's treatable? If so, we don't have a lot of money and would it be best to have him put to sleep instead of living with these growths and "seizure" like episodes? I can't stand to see animals suffer and I already feel guilty for not being...

Cat's Claw
Posted on 2009/01/06 by UserHello! About 3 weeks ago my cat had a broken claw in her front paw ( thumb one). I took her to the vet and they took out the whole claw (under anesthesia). They gave me a bottle of antibiotic (ClindaCure) to be administered once for the next 10 days and charged me $125. Three weeks has passed by and my cat's thumb looks swollen and she almost cant use her paw to walk. Is this normal after this procedure? How much time it would take for her to recuperate from this "surgery"... I cannot spend another $125!! Please help!

i have a dumbo rat who is about 1 and a half years old. over the last few weeks she has developed small lumps over her body, not like the fatty lumps my previous rats have got. she seemed a bit bloated so i took her to the vet on wednesday who said he could only find one growing lump and she should be fine for now. but since then she has deteriorated quite a bit her weight is hanging off her bones, she is more tired and weak. she is still interested in food even though she is struggling to eat more solid items and is still coming out of her cage. i dont want to just give up but having many pets before, i recognise the pattern and wonder if i should take her back to end...

Distended Abdomen. I'm worried?!
Posted on 2009/02/16 by UserI am very worried because we recently noticed that my 7 y/o dog has a distended stomach especially after eating. He is an active male of healthy weight and does not seem to have any other problems. We recently noticed that his stomach is swollen especially after he eats. He is still active and has no loss of appetite. He went to the vet Friday where they took x-rays and did blood work. Clear fluid came out when they took it from his abdomen indicating there was no blood at the time. X-rays showed it didn't seem like it was the kidneys and also that there may be something there but it was obscured by the fluid. Just today, I noticed he whines when he lays down and I think...

Cat with tail bite
Posted on 2009/02/16 by UserHI My cat was bitten on the base of its tail by another cat. I took him t the vet who cleaned him up and sent him home. The vet said if his tail doesn't start moving it will have to be amputated. The tail did start moving but the wound is still open on top. He keeps licking the ointment off and gnawing at the wound. He even took his own stiches out. I tried to take him to the vet again but was told that he wouldn't be able to see me until Saturday (its monday) and even then he scheduled me into a surgery spot because he thinks the tail has to be amputated. But the tail moves fine, and he hasn't even seen the cat!!!! He seems amputee happy and I do not want the vet...
