our cat won't bear weight on his front paw. Looks like he may have been in fight.

Cat vaccine reaction???
Posted on 2008/12/03 by UserI just adopted an adult female tortie kitty. My other cat at home is used to strange cats/kittens coming in, (we foster for a rescue) and the most she ever does is his and run away if they pester her. I've been home since I brought the new kitty home, and either she or my other cat have been with me at all times. I was sitting on the sofa with my newly adopted girl, when noticed she had a swollen lump by her right hip. Its warm to the touch, and it appears to have been a little over-groomed, so I think she's been messing with it. It feels as though its filled with fluid, kind of squishy, not unlike a hernia. Its about 2in x 2in. Since noticing this, I have also...

Female kitten with lumps under both front legs.

Dog Injury
Posted on 2008/12/14 by UserMy 1 and half year old white shepherd mix had the tiny thorns from a cactus in the bottoms of her feet. I tried my best to take them all out, although I could barely see them. After a week, she now has several small bumps (look like large pimples) where the pricks were at, or possibly still could be. It appears the are bleeding off and on as she tends to them occasionally. Any advice on what I can do? Or should do, if anything?

hot spots?
Posted on 2008/12/15 by Katei asked about a rash/dry skin about a month ago and we came to the conclusion that i need to change her food back because she was having an allergic reaction to the corn based product. she has been on the "old" food which has not given her a problem now for 3 weeks. she still has the dry skin and hair loss. she is scratching all hours of the night and day and is making some areas bleed. the hair loss is also worse. is there something i can put on this to treat it and stop the dry skin and itching? do you think she needs to be on an antibiotic? i have heard that this could be bacteria caused as well. please help! thank you!

Boils.....are they a concern for serious condition?
Posted on 2008/12/16 by UserMy dog has a large boil or blister under his fur. He had one a few weeks ago & it disappeared (not sure if it popped or what). Now he has another one. Should I be concerned? What should I do? I should preface it with saying that I don't have endless money to have all kinds of tests done. He always struggles with allergies & often scratches alot, in spite of his vegan diet. He would also breathe heavily when he has been licking and scratching a lot...Just for a few seconds when he gets done. Well, he has been doing the breathing thing out of the blue, even when he has not been scratching or licking...just lately. And his fur is suddenly dull and nasty...
