Eye injury
Posted on 2008/09/30 by Amy HarfeldShe was scratched below the eye. The bottom lid is swollen and oozing. I am keeping it clean, treating with hydrogen peroxide and neosporin. She is also taking an antibiotic. I tried warm compresses last night. Should I continue in the same manner or do you recommend something else?

Small cluster of lumps under the skin
Posted on 2008/09/25 by John UHi, I have a 10 yr old unspayed female cat who, though not showing any other symptoms, has a strange growth under her stomach. The growth is about two centimeters long and one wide running along the underside of her stomach just under the skin. It seems to feel only loosely attached, and has the consistancy of a patch of hard fish eggs, i.e. small pellets grouped together one layer thick. She seems to have no other symptoms for now, so.. anyone have an idea what this might be? Thanks, John

swollen nose
Posted on 2008/09/25 by Beverly GusterYesterday, when I left for work he was fine when I came home his nose was swollen and he didn't want to eat but did. He and the other dogs have access through their dog door to the backyard that is fenced as well as their own room in the house when I'm at work. The nose appears to be swollen on one side and there is running of the nose and some sneezing. I gave him a benydrl last night and he seemed to rest easier. Do you think it could be a bug bit...there are numberous bees and wasps outside. I didn't see any puncture at the sight. He finally ate for fear the other dogs would eat his food but was resting most of the time. What should I do to care for him and how lo ...

There were fleas in our house about 3 weeks ago, or more and we treated all the animals with bath products and the liquid on the back of their necks. I also changed food recently. Today I noticed my yorkie was scratching her back alot, when i looked I noticed red blotchy spots on her lower back near her bottom. And my other dog has 2 on the under side of her chin.. They dont seem to be scratching like there are fleas on them,, The yorkie only seems to be scratching at the one spot on her bottom.. And my other dog is not scratching at all... What do you think it could be? Thanks
