cat advice please
Posted on 2009/11/15 by UserMy 18 month old tom cat is displaying symptomsof diarrhoea, lethargy and the white inner protective film on both eyes is not retracting properly and is more needy than usual. He is not off his food and still want to go outside regularly. He also seems to be chasing or looking at things that are not there. His ears are also very hot. Thanks for your help.

My dog is not acting well
Posted on 2009/11/15 by UserMy 3 yr old siberian husky is not acting right. He is usually very excitable and happy to see people. Today he was laying outside in the same place for a very long time. When I approached him, he did not get up and he looked very upset (ears back). He finally got up after much prompting and he is walking very funny. He is taking tiny steps and walking very very slow. It is hard to get him up and when he stands he wants to lay right back down. I had to carry him up and down the stairs to go outside. He attempted to go back up them and he fell. I am not sure what could be the problem, but i am very concerned... Is there a possible medical condition that could cause this?...

Maine Coon cat
Posted on 2009/11/16 by UserWe have a 13 year old male Maine Coon cat. He has been very healthy up until a week ago. We just recently bought another Maine Coon kitten (5 months old) and brought her home. Our older cat has been very lathargic, throwing up, and losing weight pretty rapidly. We are taking him to the vet today. Could the kitten have given anything to the other cat or is this something very serious?

My cat has stumped the VET
Posted on 2009/11/21 by UserMy male, 6 year old cat started peeing in weird spots, then it was super concentrated and we brought him to the VET. They did a urinalysis and blood test which I have the results of. At first they thought it was a sign of diabetes but he wasnt drinking at home. Then he becasue constipated. They put him on a special diet and IV fluids to flush his system. They said there is no infection but there are RBC in his urinalysis. They thought he was fine and when they took him off the IV the VET called and said he is back to spot peiing and his urine is super concentrated/has crystals in it. The vet is stumped and my cat has been there for 2 weeks. Any advise or thoughts?

My kitten is sick
Posted on 2009/11/22 by UserHi, my cat has been sick for a couple weeks now and has gotten a little bit better. He no longer has a runny nose or sneeze but is still tired and has a reddish ring around his eyes. We took him to a vet and they gave him some antibiotics. After he takes them, the red rings go away for a while but come back until he takes his medicine again. What is wrong with him? Thanks

One of our boxers is sick.....
Posted on 2009/11/24 by UserWe have 2 boxers. Twix started chemo last Wednesday and we were advised to not let him pee where our other boxer Kenya uses the grass. Friday night she got really sick and was throwing up, not eathing much and not drinking much. Same sort of thing on Saturday but only threw up once or twice. Sunday she was totally normal, normal energy, ate normal, drank normal, then yesterday is back to being tired, quiet, not eating or drinking and threw up twice. Could this be from her licking Twix's penis now and then and getting some of the toxins in her body or do you think it is something else inside her or a virus she has picked up?

Is this parvo or just a sick best friend?
Posted on 2009/11/24 by UserI adopted a dog (3 yr. old shih tzu, female) about a month ago. Suddenly she's eating her own poop and vomiting. Sometimes she strains as if she has to poop and nothing comes out, sometimes she strains and a small blob (like raw liver) comes out. I have never seen a dog with parvo, could this be symptoms of it? I recently lost my job and don't have money to see a vet right now, but if its parvo I know I have to do something. Sometimes she will throw up (clear or light yellow mucus). It's never her food that she throws up, and I recently witnessed her eating her own poop ( which really smells terrible). Are these symptoms of parvo?

Hi, our chihuahua has been puking since yesterday and today had bloody diarrhea. She's drinking some water, but not eating and now her face is very swollen. She ate some turkey and bones on Thanksgiving and I'm worried that could be the cause. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
