I have a male cat who is almost a year old. He has long fur, and sometimes he makes a mees of his back end when he goes to the bathroom. Well, one day it was messier than most, and my boyfriend decided to give him a bath. Ever since that day the cat has refused to leave the corner in the kitchen, where he proceeds to urinate and deficate on himself all day. We brought the litter box into the kitchen hoping he would use it, but he won't. He hisses and growls at my boyfriend all the time, and is starting to get the same way with me and our other cat. I am thinking he may be traumatized from the bath, but now he needs one more than ever, and I feel too bad for him to do it....

Sick Puppy
Posted on 2008/11/26 by UserI have a 5 month old shi tzu pomeranian mix. typically very active. she has been a little lathargic over the past couple of days. not complete out of it just not as active as usual. I also noticed her stool has been slightly runny and yellow over the last couple of days. It is not every time she goes to the bathroom but about every other time she goes. She has been needing to go alot more than usual. Should I been concerned? Is there anything I can do at home? Could this be caused from stress? She has an appointment on Moday to be spayed should i wait that long for her to see a vet?

Third eye-lid isn't retracting
Posted on 2008/11/26 by UserMy kitten has been sleeping more than usual, and my husband recently noticed that she wasn't opening her eyes either. When she does open her eyes to eat, or chase her favorite toy, her third-lid (haw?) covers half of her eye. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, but again is sleeping more than usual. We gave her dry-eye relief drops, one in each eye, and it seemed to relieve it slightly. What is this? Do we need to take her in to a vet?

Vestibular disease?
Posted on 2008/11/26 by UserHello, my dog Bailey is 12 3/4 years old. 3 1/2 days ago she started stumbling and falling down to the left. She also tilted her head to the left. The Emergency Vet I took her to suggest she has Vestibular Disease and also noticed a significant heart murmur which was also new. I was sent home with some anti nausea meds and told that the symptoms should improve in 48-72 hours. Over the next few days the stumbling and falling down and the head tilt switched to the right side and is more prominent, it also seems that she is walking good in the front, but the hind legs walk on an angle to the right. She will not lift her head to look up to my face, even if I sit down on...

Posted on 2008/11/30 by UserCan anything be given to a kitten that has accidentally ingested murphy's oil soap? He has decreased appetite and is not acting himself (crying, lethargic). Any suggestions?

Thank you for comments on IMTP
Posted on 2008/12/02 by UserWe have a 6 yr old neutered male Maltese. His symptoms were red blotches around his body, dark diarrhea, blood in urine, loss of appetite and lethargic. Vet did blood tests and recommended we take him to specialist/hospital, so we admitted him immediately. He is currently on cortizone/prednizone? ... attempting to stop his immune system from attacking his own blood cells. We are waiting. I'm communicating to you "Thanks" for your comments to Zoe (9 yr old retreiver with Thrombocytopenia). Your comments are comforting during our difficult time.

Noisy Stomach
Posted on 2008/12/09 by HillaryMonty is a 10 month old shepherd/husky mix. He is normally a really playful puppy always looking for his evening walk. He ate his breakfast this morning and then we went on our walk. then i had to put him in his crate for about 4 hours (he has been in there for 8 before and has always done well). When i got home he would not eat his dinner and wants to just lay around. His stomach is making a lot of noises. This has been going on for about 3 hours now. is there anything i can do? what could be causing this? if it is not better in the morning should i take him to a vet or do you think that he will be better? Thank you so much. Hillary
