  • Weakness

My dog Lizzy is a Sharpei/bassett mix. She is 5 years old and overweight. She's had trouble recently being able to jump up on the bed and getting up the back steps. I've put her on weight control dog food. Yesterday we took a short walk (about a mile) and I could tell she was having a hard time at the end. Last night and this morning she could barely stand up and her hind legs were shaking. Could it be something else is the problem or simply she is not in good shape?

  • my chihuahuas just had a litter of eight. all appeared healthy, allthough there was a runt in the pack...he seemed to do well. he did eat and grow with the rest. however now, they are three weeks old born Feb 28th, (it is now march 17), he all of a sudden started whining and whimpering in obvious pain. doesnt seem to want to eat. when we touch his neck or head his yelping intensifies. earlier this afternoon we did try to give all the puppies some milk supplement and nutrical...but since it was there first trial none of them really ate much of either..HELP! also, when we first realized something was wrong he was lying on his back with foam/drool coming out of his...

  • Help with symptoms

About a week ago my dog started having accidents in the house, which is not like her at all. Today we came home and she is spitting up and seems lethargic. What could be the cause of this and how serious is it?

  • grieving, mourning, depression

Hi, I've got a 9 year old male cat, Humunculus, who just lost his biological brother (same litter - always been together) to heart problems. My problem is that the cat seems to be mourning and I can't help him. He's lost weight; he isn't grooming himself, he's not hunting; he just lays around. If he sees me, he meows at me at doesn't really move a lot. He looks and sounds sad. My husband thinks I'm personifying him. Humunculus is usually pretty active and an avid hunter. He loves to cuddle with me and sit on my lap. Now I have to find him, pick him up, and he seems to just tolerate it. He's able to move - he just seems to be going through the day like a zombie. ...

  • Dog vomiting - please help

My dog vomited sometime today what looked like a bright yellow liquid. After feeding her this evening she started vomiting and when we took her outside she kept vomiting (it looked like her food covered in froth and she ate most of it) and scooting on her belly across the yard. Then she started eating grass and vomited that up as well. Now she seems fine, just really inactive and not her normal self. Should I take her to a vet, or just starve her for 24 hours and feed her a bland diet for a few days?
