Lethargy

  • ideas for max

My 7yr 62lb golden Max went to the vet 10days ago with symtoms of not eating, shaking, hind legs seem painful. He has trouble getting up and going down stairs and bending down to go to the bathroom. They took Xrays and he did show a very small amt of arthirtis in lower back and in hips but nothing major. They also did a blood test and all of his organs showed in good health. He has been on antibiotics and rymidal since and it seems like nothing has changed. He will seem like he feels better for a few hours and then we are right back to where we were. I have another appt for him this week but is there anything you can think of that I can bring up to his vet to check...

  • Good evening Tom Johnson here in Jacksonville Florida. I have 3 feral cats that have adopted my wife and I. Two are females which I was able to capture and take to the First coast no more homeless pets and have them spayed and Rabies shots given about a year ago.In any event one of them had a litter of kittens and one of them a male has been coming around for all that time. He has not ever had any shots. He is feral but will let me pet him and even get in my lap sometimes in the garage. This morning I found 2 big puddles of vomit but it is a yellow thick liquid. I just returned home from work and there were three more puddles on the garage floor and he is acting strange,...

  • behavior

Yesterday my dog was at daycare - he goes around once a week to every other week and he knows the people there well, they know him. They said that after being there for about four hours with the same caregiver, that he started running in circles, barking, tail between his legs, peeing on himself - and acted like he didn't know the person or where he was. They said he seemed "lost". They were able to calm him and returned him to play, but he did the same thing again. They kept him separated from the other dogs the remainder of the day but he continued to have episodes of not knowing who the people were and acting "scared". THis morning he...

  • Metal allergy?

Our cat Charlie has been getting sick since the beginning of the year. For two weeks he was sick everyday - and not just a little bit. He was at the vet everyday, getting anti-biotics and water infusionsions. This didn't help, so we stopped taking him, and he got better. Since then he's been sick on and off - and I noticed that it coincides with me using a metal food bowl for him. Is it possible that he has a metal allergy? He has no outside symptons such as rashes or welts on his skin. I'd appreciate any info you could give, thanks.

  • Seizures

My 12 1/2 year old lab/sharpei mix has started having seizures. She has had 4 in two days. I took her to my vet and they did blood work that came back negative for any issue. The vet thinks that the seizures could be caused by a tumor that is affecting her central nervous system. I don't want to put her through the process of an MRI -- she's already "freaked out" enough. Can you give me a second opinion? I'm really at a loss as to what to do. Thanks.

  • Heartworms?

Our sharpei seems to be losing weight. She simply isn't acting like herself...not as happy. She has also been dry heaving. And she shivers sometimes. A friend mentioned that it might be heartworms? Any advice you have would be much appreciated. I wanted to see if there was anything I could purchase that fit these symptoms or if I should just go ahead and take her to the vet. Thanks, Heather
