my ten year old husky-lab has a skin ulcer that is about the size of a half dollar... it weeps constantly even after a full ten day course of antibiotics and then subsequently halfway through a fourteen day course of two antibiotics...this is three weeks in to a lump that i found on his back that then turned scabby and then into an open ulcer located just below his spine...xrays show minimal arthritis in his spine near the area ...he has lost most control in his rear end and has great lethargy...he has little appetite...prior to this his energy appetite and rear end were excellent...swimming hiking playing were daily events...i fear that the recovery is not near and...

Posted on 2008/10/14 by UserI cant figure it out, she is always smiling (yes she smiles) and happy but a week ago on a walk she just stopped walking and her legs SHOOK real bad. Had to drive her back home. Now she wont walk,smile, eat,drink or anything. All she does is lay there and vomit once in awhile. Its like someone switched dogs on me. We thought id was joint treat/meds a friend gave us cause we thought her bad leg was the cause, but we stopped givin em to her and shes still like a lump.Anyones help would be much appr. Thank you for your time.

Posted on 2008/10/14 by RyanI'm not sure what is wrong with my dog. Her name is Hannah. She is a two year old chi, but has had challenges to face her whole life. She was born premature, had seizures from apparent hydrosyphilis, and is now very ill. I know everyone has two pound dogs, but mine really is. Well she was 2.6 lbs last week, now she is 2 lb on the dot. She started her first heat three weeks ago. Everything was fine until last week. For some reason, she can't keep any solid food down. She wanted to eat at first, now everytime she eats something solid, she lets out a terrible shreek and then vomits almost immediately. She has very little energy. Posted on 2008/10/16 by UserI have a Chiuahua and the guys normally upbeat and friendly but the past two days hes kept to himself havnt seen him eat or drink water usual will beg for food while im eating and he wont do that he feels warm but his pads n nose are cold the nose is also wet seems to breath normal even his facial expression looks Sad he also seems to Keep licking his butt constantly i noticed when first started looking sick he threw up an lil and had a slight case of diahrea which seems to have stopped Should i be worried??

I have a 13 year old daschund that seems to have a problem with his right front paw. He is having trouble getting up and walking. Paw seems to be swollen and turns under when he tries to walk. Can not see anything in the paw. These problems started after he was boarded for a weekend and have gotten progressively worse.

We adopted Keystone from an animal shelter in June of 2008. Keystone started limping on his front right leg about 2 months ago, in August. I first treated him with Aspirin per my vets advice. After 2 weeks he wasn't getting better so I took him to the office. He was started on Prednisone which he took for 10 days. During those 10 days he started not to walk on his leg at all and would drag it on the ground. The Prednisone only seemed to exacerbate the problem. A second opinion at a different vet resulted in x-rays which showed extra growth in the bones of his shoulder. In the mean time he developed a harsh dry cough. The vet said the bone growth was due to an infection...
