limp in hind leg
Posted on 2008/05/15 by jamie -
My 12 year old pitbull/lab mix was recently put on Rimadyl and now he is having trouble walking, getting up off the floor and moving in general. Could this be a reaction to the Rimadyl? A friend of mine said it sounded like a blood clot. Our vet has run a CBC and says everything is WNL. What should we do now?

Muscle control loss
Posted on 2008/06/10 by UserI have an eight year old female dalmation. Earlier this evening she awoke and seemed to have lost control of her hind end. Unable to walk or even stand without weaving. Loss of bowel control, panting and tongue hanging from mouth. Steve spmeyer214@msn.com

Swollen leg
Posted on 2008/06/20 by UserHi, I recently took my labador out to the beach and as he jumped into the water he landed funny and came out limping. On inspection I discovered that his back leg knee joint was badly swollen but he was still putting a bit of weight on it so I presumed it was just sprained and we've been resting him since. Its been nearly a week now since the incident and the swelling hasn't gone down at all so I'm starting to get a bit worried about it. He is putting weight on it when he walks, but when he's standing still he lifts it off the ground. Do I just need to rest him more or could it be something more serious? He doesn't appear to be in much pain but he has been very...

very scared
Posted on 2008/09/14 by marilynhi, this will be long, but i am scared. my pug has been fine until this friday. she came in heat around aug. 7, tried to keep her and male pug seperated. my son let them both out at the same time to go to take care of normal business when we got home. this was aug. 12 and i caught them. everything has been fine till now. first notice small clear wet spots on floor with a blood clot in them. four on one day, two the next day. she was still happy and full of energy. then noticed she was trembling, and then there was urine in blood. at first she dranked alot, now the only thing i can get her to drink is watered down milk with a egg in it.(i hope this safe) lost her appetite...

Strained leg
Posted on 2007/12/15 by UserCooper strained his leg in the summer, had him to the vet, and had him rest and be quite for a while and he was doing good. The Xray showed nothing other than that. Was doing good but still limping some, but the other day he chased a cat in the yard thru the snow and now he is limping again. Gavea 1/4 of a Tyenol Artristis pill and it seemed to helped. Was wondering if this would hurt him, or is there something else I could give him. Thanks Gloria Flynn

possible patella luxation
Posted on 2008/09/17 by UserPeanut within the last couple of weeks has been holding up his right hind leg occasionally. This would happen and then a few minutes later her was ready to run, jump and play as if nothing was wrong. I was worried about patella luxation so took him to vet @ banfield and she did a physical exam and said his knee seemed fine, maybe it was just a strain. After about a week this is still happening about 2-3 times a day. The other day he did this when he hiked his leg to urinate. Is this something I should be concerned about or give him time and see if he heals? He is only 10 mths old and don't want him to be in pain. He does not wimper or anything when this happens. ...
