My 6 yr old chihuahua "willy" was sick last week with a large bump under his right eye. I took him to the vet and she said it was probably a tooth abscess. She put him on antibiotics and scheduled him for an abstraction. The antibiotics seem to make him feel better but the bump stayed. After 5 days the bump seemed to rupture on the outside of his face leaving a small bloody spot but apparently didn't drain because the bump is still there although not as big. Is this a tooth abscess or not? The abstraction will be very expensive and I want him to get well but don't want unnecessary surgery or expense.

Posted on 2009/05/31 by UserAbout 5 days ago Homer started screaming out when we would pet his ear. Then it continued when he started doing it when no one was around him, just out of no where, and it wasn't just his ear after that. If you touch his legs, neck or feet he screams loud. A couple nights ago he started pacing back and forth very slow while panting and holding his head straight out. While doing this he also convulses with a blank stare in his eyes. He can not lay down, when he tries the second his stomach hits the floor he screams. This screaming that he does ranges from ear piercing to just whincing for sometimes 10-15 seconds.

Lymes Disease
Posted on 2009/06/01 by LisaMy 2 year old dogs was diagnosed with a very mild case of lymes disease about a month ago. he has been on antibiotics as well as pain meds and anti inflamatory meds. he was doing really well then the last two days he has been very slow to rise and looks very sore. Is this normal? I am freaking out and don't want to lose him. please help me

near hind lameness
Posted on 2009/06/06 by Userhi my gelding is lame on near hind .only noticeable in trot and wen turning.there is no swelling or heat fron the ground up,i think he has hurt his hip as wen he walks he dishes his leg and has been seen to drag his toe and just looks stiff.originally he would fall away from any pressure i put on his hip joint now he stands his ground,there is a small lump on the hip just where the whirls occur it is not a hard lump and he does not object to pressure on it but it is a lump that wasnt there b4 he was sore any ideas??

Strange behavior in our cat.
Posted on 2009/06/08 by UserOur cat started acting strange about an hour ago... strange walk... shaking all over... dilated pupils. We can't find any bite marks on him or soars... we live somewhat in the country, and he has come back at times looking like was in a fight... but not recently.

Very sick screaming out in pain almost growling.. very tender in abdomin. pooped on floor yesterday and has not since.. stomach bloated and no energy and not eating.. ten years old.. I have never seen him sick like this.. I am considering puttin ghim down tomorrow.. somethingreallhy wrong in his abdomen..

rabbit not well-not eating
Posted on 2009/06/13 by Userhi, our rabbit is between 5-6 years old and is usually quite large and fluffy but over the last few days he appears to be extremely thin and doesn't appear to be eating. He has sore/wattery eyes and seams very weak and shakey. Is there anything we can do for him asap?
