  • Although she has been showing small signs of what I thought to be arthritis in her back legs babe recently took a large step backwards(literally). She has since had a great deal of trouble walking straight and up stairs and is tilting her head a bit. any idea as to what may be happening?

  • sore right rear leg

My 1 year old dog is limping on right rear leg. No known injury, seems to be not as bad once she gets moving. Can't feel any tenderness. Seems to be worse after laying on it or when she goes down the steps, does not want to put weight on it

  • possible patella luxation

Peanut within the last couple of weeks has been holding up his right hind leg occasionally. This would happen and then a few minutes later her was ready to run, jump and play as if nothing was wrong. I was worried about patella luxation so took him to vet @ banfield and she did a physical exam and said his knee seemed fine, maybe it was just a strain. After about a week this is still happening about 2-3 times a day. The other day he did this when he hiked his leg to urinate. Is this something I should be concerned about or give him time and see if he heals? He is only 10 mths old and don't want him to be in pain. He does not wimper or anything when this happens. Do ...

  • Spine Problem

Dear TeleVets, I desperately need your advice! Our rescued LabMix 4yr old Sandi has suddenly lost the use of her rear quarters and we are at a loss at what to do. She initially went down about 4 weeks ago and our Vet initially diagnosed her with inflammation of the sciatic nerve. Treatment was rest and steroids for 2 weeks. Upon removing her from the steroids she seemed somewhat better but started going down hill quickly. Again the vet put her on steroids to get her mobile but also recommended taking her to a specialty clinic for further testing. We immediately took her there and after a myolegram that was normal and $2,200 later we still know nothing more. The ...

  • rear leg lameness

Our 11 y/o aus shep? mix is displaying signs of rear leg lameness. Difficulty getting up from lying down and getting onto the couch were what we noticed first. She has developed a limp and drag when walking which seems to be worse on the left side with occasional tremors in her leg when standing. She’s not as high strung all the time like she used to be, but her personality has not changed. And we have seen absolutely no signs of pain. She will still chase the squirrels in the back yard and won’t yelp if she falls because she can’t run well anymore. Occasional incontinence (not urinary) and walking with an uncomfortable squat while defecating are also new. We have t ...

Pepper jumped off of our bed about about a week ago.He sounded like he landed a little hard. He was okay the first couple of days except he wouldnt jump on the bed or anything. Then he suddenly stopped walking. He would only drag himself aroun. We carried him to the vet. They did spinal hip and skull xrays, Everything came back normal. They also did bloodwork which was normal. They really have no explanation for what is wrong. They sent him home on prednisone. They said he may walk in a few days or it could be weeks. They just dont know, He does'nt seem to be in any pain and he is very alert. He also eats really well. I have noticed since he has been home he ha ...

  • My 12 yr old sweet ol boy has been feeling really bad, he is lethargic, w0n't sit, only lies on his side. won't walk, eat (only selective foods like a hotdog or a piece of chicken etc.)His bones are starting to show. He has a leaky discharge from his private and the same from his eyes (greenish), It's been a week now and he is no better. He's not throwing up and doesn't seem to be hurting just miserable (but i DON'T KNOW)We do not have the money to take to the vet and I know he is old, I just want to make sure he is not suffering. What should I do? I have been giving him 1 aspirin 2 times a day to help.

  • Ibuprofen for pain to dog?

Can I give my lab mix an ibuprofen tablet. when we went to bed last night he was fine, this morning he doesn't want to seem to walk. He ran really hard this weekend playing and chasing a tennis ball. Could it be really sore muscles? My daughter just called and she said he is walking but shaking while he is walking.

  • New Kitten Limps

We got a new kitten yesterday, a nice little guy called Moxie and we've noticed that he favors his left front leg when he walks. He can get around fine, but he just limps more some times and less other times. He purrs a lot and likes to curl up in a chair and sleep so far. Any ideas?

  • Swollen leg

Hi, I recently took my labador out to the beach and as he jumped into the water he landed funny and came out limping. On inspection I discovered that his back leg knee joint was badly swollen but he was still putting a bit of weight on it so I presumed it was just sprained and we've been resting him since. Its been nearly a week now since the incident and the swelling hasn't gone down at all so I'm starting to get a bit worried about it. He is putting weight on it when he walks, but when he's standing still he lifts it off the ground. Do I just need to rest him more or could it be something more serious? He doesn't appear to be in much pain but he has been very lathargic. ...

My dog has been vomiting for 3 days now and I just gave him Cephalexin but I have a medicine called Metociopramide which my vet said is for vomiting but I am not sure if I should give him that also. Nothing is coming up in his vomit except a water substance there is no blood or food so I am not sure what to do
