My 14 years old female cat is losing her hair in the back of her head and around her neck. I took her to the vet who prescribed Clavamox and Apo Prednisone. The medication is almost finished (only a few Apo left) and I do not notice any difference in her itchyness. The wounds from her scratching are healed, but the itching persist. Any Idea on what I should do next? the hair seems to be slowly growing back, but her itchiness stays. Many thanks for your help. Chantal

Growing Lump on Cat's Head full of blood
Posted on 2009/10/30 by UserMy 1 year male cat had a small lump on his head yesterday and it grew to large golf ball size today. Once it reached that size and he scratched it...it began to seep/spew a bloody like substance and then when i tried to drain the rest out by pressing on it with a paper towel blood came out....after all the blood is pretty much gone his face goes back to its normal shape.....this has happened to him once before...a couple of weeks ago and we bandaged it up and put a cone on him so he couldn't scratch it. Well it looked like it healed so we took the cone off of him and now...a couple of weeks later its back.
