Itching & scratching

  • My 1.5 year old golden retriever, Max, has a rash on his underside belly that extends down to his hind legs. There are red/pink areas that look like he's been itching. On his hind quarters there are some areas of black bumps that have the feeling of scabs. I put him on Sargeant's SENRYPRO XFC (which had scary reviews of pet seizures...and I promptly washed it off of him with dishwashing soap) and put the regular K-9 Advantix I usually bought on him about 5 days later. He has never had a skin problem and has always been in good health. I don't know what to do and need some guidance. I've attached a picture (hopefully it helps) and have more that I could send. Please...

  • Biting and Chewing

For the past couple of months our Pitbull Jaeger has been scratching and itching primarily on his lower back and tail. We have taken him to the vet and they told us to administer Benadryl. We did, and a week later it started back up again. It has gotten to the point where he chews at the affected areas, and now it's affecting the pads of his feet. I have done some research and found that it may be Yeast/bacterial related. My question to you is, is there anything that we can buy OTC that will help our baby? I found this product on Petsmart.com called Septi-Clens, that's why I ask? Please help our baby! Thanks so much, Jessy

  • Vomit and odd stool

I gave my dog a vet approved dewormer 2 days ago for round and hook worms. It appeared to have worked that day because she was expelling the worms each time she went to the bathroom. I thought they were gone, because this eventually stopped. Today, however, she began to expel a spongy yellow feces with what appeared to be more worms in it. I asked my vet about it, and she could not give me a good reason. Also, I had to take my dog in to the vet today because she was vomiting liquid that appeared to irritate her. The vet just gave her fluids, some canned foods and told me to withhold food and water for several hours and reintroduce gradually. She did not give me a...

  • Fur loss on chipmunk

HI, I have 2 chipmunks as pets. One of them has been experiencing fur-loss for the past 2-3 months and now and recently seems to be getting worse. She has been lethargic and only seems to come out of her box to use the toilet and to drink and eat. We have considered parasites, but eliminated it due to the other chipmunk not experiencing any symptoms. It was also suggested to me that it could be stress, as the other chipmunk can be quite dominant at food times in particular. We separated the cages but the chipmunk experiencing fur-loss appeared further distressed, not going to sleep in the new box (they normally share) and wanting to get out of her cage into the....
