my dog is sick
Posted on 2009/02/22 by UserMy dog has been sick for about two weeks. Eats very little. Has trouble pooping really seems to be straining when she goes. I have given her pumpkin to try to help didn't work. She drinks a great bit of water. When you look at her gums in her mouth they are very pale white no red or pinkish color. Also when I look at her belly very pale no pink in color. At a loss here any ideas. It's more than constipation, its not diabetic. HELP

hello. i was writing to get some advice about what may be wrong with my dog. she has a 7 year old jack russel terrier and was the runt of the litter. she has been diagnosed with a vitamin d deficiency and is taking medicine everyday. she has recently begun losing control of her bladder, constantly having muscle tremmors, has stoppede eating and is considerably losing weight, and her breath is smelling more foulf than normal. she also has been vomiting her food whenever she does eat. what do you think could be the problem? we took her to the vet this past friday and had bloodwork done ad everything came back normally.

Liver Biopsy Dog
Posted on 2010/03/18 by CarolDue to elevated liver enzymes from a routine CBS blood test my dog was suspected of having liver disease. An ultrasound was done and no tumours were found and the liver shows normal in size. We had a fine needle liver biospy done and they can find no identifiable specific cause why the liver cells are dying. My question is before the biospy Penny only had frequent thirst, drinking 1 litre water per day and frequent urination. After the biopsy she has lost 11/4 lbs in weight and is lethargic not the same dog. She is eating well though. Could a biopsy cause a dog to deteriorate in this way. Is a biopsy a relatively safe procedure? She had a coagulation profile done...

Blood in Urine
Posted on 2008/09/20 by UserMy year old Beagle has blood in her urine. My vet has done two urine labs, and both came up that a simple urinary track infection medication would cure it. Both medications have failed to do so. I have been told that its a possibility that the cause of the blood is due to her being fixed to early. The vets gave the go ahead to have her fixed right after she was old enough to have her rabies shot. The vets next step is to do a ultrasound, i would really like to get a couple second opinions before i spend that kind of money.

Is he ok??
Posted on 2008/09/20 by UserHi, we just got our dog from a shelter. He is one year old, and has kennel cough. He goes pee very often (about every 15 or 20mins) and his heart rate is beating pretty fast. Is this something we should be concerned about? He is on doxycycline for the kennel cough.
