I have a female cat who's brother died a little over a year ago with a blockage (kidneys). She has been going downhill ever since. She is anorexic now, you can see her bones. She refuses the litter box (has made my daughter's bed her litter box). I rarely see her eat much, she does drink a lot of water. She is still loving but the last couple of days she has just wanted to lay around. Is she about to pass away like my male did?

Vomiting Dog
Posted on 2008/03/05 by UserI have a ten year old beagle mix dog that has not been eating for at least a week. He has always eaten tuna (in water - oil free). He has been vomiting clear liquid (occassionally, yellow liquid). Last night, we feed him white rice and hamburger (drained the grease) and he ate some of that. He is also drinking ALOT of water (starting to drink puddles of water outside) and usually within a few minutes of drinking water, he vomits again. What is your advice on what we can do?

Bleeding in Bowels
Posted on 2008/06/02 by ElizabethMy cat has had runny or very soft bowel movements for several days, and the last night and this morning there was blood as well. I also noticed that there appeared to be what looked like a small white string, or a substance similar to it, in the bowel movement. While she still seems happy enough and is playing (she is still a kitten about 12 weeks old), she does seem to be getting tired more quickly. Is there anything short of taking her to the vet I can do?

Will she be okay?
Posted on 2008/06/23 by karenWe just recently got a dog from a shelter and she is a one year old Chihuahua terrier mix. Since I brought her home she has had pneumonia, kennel cough, urinary tract infection and four weeks ago above her eye became inflamed...than the next morning she had a huge lump on the side of her head that was hard! Brought her to the vet and they did the antibiotics, benadryl and steroid shot....brought her home...it got worse...brought her back, they changed antibiotics...thought it was from a bunch of bee stings. Than last week she ended up getting a bunch of lumps everywhere! We brought her in again and they said we would have to bring her to a specialist, so we did and...

Older Dog with a Nasty Cough
Posted on 2008/09/06 by JackieHi, my dog has a hacking cough that started last night. The cough is coming from deep in his body, and he keeps almost coughing something up. A friend said he might have a hair ball and that I could administer the same hair ball treatment that you would give to a cat. Is this true? Does this sound like the issue with my dog? He is fine when he is not coughing; he plays and wants to walk; he is eating and drinking, although he may be drinking a bit more than usual. He has not vomited, although it appears as though he is trying to cough something up.

very scared
Posted on 2008/09/14 by marilynhi, this will be long, but i am scared. my pug has been fine until this friday. she came in heat around aug. 7, tried to keep her and male pug seperated. my son let them both out at the same time to go to take care of normal business when we got home. this was aug. 12 and i caught them. everything has been fine till now. first notice small clear wet spots on floor with a blood clot in them. four on one day, two the next day. she was still happy and full of energy. then noticed she was trembling, and then there was urine in blood. at first she dranked alot, now the only thing i can get her to drink is watered down milk with a egg in it.(i hope this safe) lost her appetite...

my dog is sick
Posted on 2009/02/22 by UserMy dog has been sick for about two weeks. Eats very little. Has trouble pooping really seems to be straining when she goes. I have given her pumpkin to try to help didn't work. She drinks a great bit of water. When you look at her gums in her mouth they are very pale white no red or pinkish color. Also when I look at her belly very pale no pink in color. At a loss here any ideas. It's more than constipation, its not diabetic. HELP
