  • ??Brain tumor

My 15 year old Bichon is blind s/p unsuccesful cataract surgery; now deaf - unknown cause; has started barking and wanting something 2-5 times each night. We finally figured out he wanted food - then drinks of water - then to go out He had a grand mal seizure after being upset about getting dried after a bath, none observed except that one. He paces constantly, had a motor deficit episode this weekend that seems to have resvoled except for odd head tilt movements - almost like Tourettes! I am thinking brain tumor - any thoughts?? Diane

  • Dog ate dried figs, help!!

My 23 lb. miniature schnauzer ate about 1 1/2 cups of dried figs. He seems to have an upset stomach and wants to go out constantly. Is there anything I can do? I don't want to give him too much water because I am afraid they will expand. Any advice?

  • Symptoms

My 10 year old female, spayed Labrador retriever has stopped eating for the last 3 days. She wants to drink water all the time and her urine is very dark in color. She also seems to be leaking during her sleep. There is no vomiting evident and she has regular stools (not diahhrea).

  • excessive water drinking

Mittens is a 16 year old long hair domestic cat and has recently started drinking an excessive amount of water and seems to be having a hard time making it to the litter box to urinate. Her appetite is good although she does seem to have lost some weight. Could you advise what could be going on. Thanks

  • Diabetes/Low Thyroid

Last week, Moby (94 lbs) began drinking excessive amounts of water (this was a sudden change). After a couple of days of this, he began waking me during the night to take him outside to wet. This progressed to his not having enough control to let me know and he had accidents inside two consecutive nights. I took him to the vet on Friday, they drew blood and tested his urine. The results indicate he is diabetic and his thyroid level is low. His blood sugar was 400. Additional blood work indicated that his organs have not been affected. Friday night, he needed to go outside to wet approximately every 1 1/2 hours and all night he still could not get enough water. ...

  • Reason for collapse

My 14yr old male Brussles Griffon has gagging fits where he can't seem to breath and tries to hack up something but never has a discharge. He then loses control of his bowls and pees on floor and then his front legs weaken and he collapes and can't move for awhile. He eventually recovers enought to move but with difficulty. Doesn't hardly eat, licks his feet a lot, sleeps all the time and doesn't really want any attention. Doesn't seem to have a fever. Fits usually happen at night. I am very worried?

  • I've noticed my 8 month old golder retiever is panting a lot more in non-active settings. He also drinking a lot more water. He was neutered 6 weeks ago so I am not sure if this is contributing. I live in Atlanta GA and the wether has gotten a little bit warmer which could be a factor. Does these seem normal or should I take him into the Vet? Thanks, Max

  • Seizures

My 12 1/2 year old lab/sharpei mix has started having seizures. She has had 4 in two days. I took her to my vet and they did blood work that came back negative for any issue. The vet thinks that the seizures could be caused by a tumor that is affecting her central nervous system. I don't want to put her through the process of an MRI -- she's already "freaked out" enough. Can you give me a second opinion? I'm really at a loss as to what to do. Thanks.

  • My toy poodle WILL NOT EAT

I cannot get my toy poodle to EAT...she was recently in the hospital for twonights hooked up to an IV with Dextrose & Potassium (she was very low)and diagnosed with juvenile hypoclycmia and low potassium (they did an xray and blood work and ruled out a liver shunt). I have to force feed her puppy can food (at the vet's suggestion) every 2 -2.5 hrs. (I can only get maybe a teaspoon in her at a time & that takes 20 mins.)she got home thursday and Friday she was fine....now yesterday she had diarhea and today and over the night so far too...can potassium supplements give her diarhea? How can I get her to eat???She is 1 lb. 12 oz. and almost 4 months old. I love her...
