We have a 9 year old female black lab/collie. She had vaccinations in early November and has not been the same since. She first lost her appetite in eating her dog food and we have tried all types since then. She does eat dog treats. we are reluctant to give her tabel scraps, but that is that she is eating. She is drinking lots of water. She has recently become bloated and has very little energy.

Obese Beagle
Posted on 2009/01/04 by ChristineThanks for your response to my answer awhile back. It was helpful but the vet has totally changed his diet and still no results after 2 months. Mind you where I live the weather doesn't help as its been too cold to walk him at the moment so I've had to resort to playing with him indoors & do walks when the windchills are decent. Niko is now on MEDICAL Fibre to help with his weight loss. The vet has him eating once a day with 1 cup dry (I have cut it down to 1/2 cup) and 1/2 can wet (I have reduced it to 1/4 can). He can at most times eat all and other times can not so I leave what is left in his bowl so he can finish it off. The vet also found high amounts of...

Need immediate help with senior cat
Posted on 2009/01/06 by UserI have a 17 year old cat who has shown signs of aging for the past year or so. Last year I had blood work done after he lost a lot of weight and had increased thirst and hunger. All came back normal. Two weeks ago, my cats stomach appeared bloated significantly. The problem is that the cause if not known. The vet thinks it could be cancer or kidney disease, but has ruled out heart problems and infectious diseases as my cats remain indoors. I could get an ultrasound done to determine the cause but I don't want to...

Not eating enough
Posted on 2009/01/19 by UserMy 19 year old cat is barely eating his wet food. He is drinking alot of water. The vet said he has elevated kidney and thyroid levels but not high enough to use meds. He also has a very high heart rate. What can I do to get him to eat? He is still going to the litter box at least to urinate. He also had a soft stool.

What's Wrong With Addie?
Posted on 2009/01/21 by KateraHi, I have a five year old Labrador mix. She's been acting strange lately. All she does is sleep and she's breathing heavy. Last week she kept throwing up. She is not fixed, and I am wondering if she is pregnant. Her nipples are larger than usual and her abdomen feels, simply put, harder and heavier. Also she has been wanting to go outside to urinate frequently. Please help me!
