Head tilt

  • "Sinker" is just not himself

Went to work on Tuesday and put Sinker in his Kennel for the day and when we returned that day he wouldn't move very fast at all. We call him and he very slowly walks to the front of the kennel with a hunched back. His back hasn't been straightened nor has his behavior back to normal and it's been three days now. I put him on my bed last night to massage his neck and back and he seemed to like it but then rolled on his back by himself and layed there. He began wimpering/crying without touching him so I rolled him back over. He has had these spells before but none lasting this long. Usually, he comes out of it within a day. I'd say he had the last one maybe 5-6...

  • We have a similar problem with our cat Molly. It started with conjunctivitis in the right eye, then a respiratory infection, then an outer ear infection and finally a head tilt that is progressively worsening. She is very disoriented now and has been on antibiotics and a steroid for about a month. She still has a very good appetite although difficulty eating due to some partial facial paralysis. We can not afford MRI but may ask vet to try to drain right ear canal.

  • Sick puppy

I have a 2 month old Chiachuachua/terrier, not positive about the terrier part. /he hasn't eaten in 3 days, he is barely moving around, not active, he looks like it hurts him to walk, takes a few steps and plops down. He's making this awful moaning noise. What do i do?

  • Not a clue what's going on

About 5 days ago Homer started screaming out when we would pet his ear. Then it continued when he started doing it when no one was around him, just out of no where, and it wasn't just his ear after that. If you touch his legs, neck or feet he screams loud. A couple nights ago he started pacing back and forth very slow while panting and holding his head straight out. While doing this he also convulses with a blank stare in his eyes. He can not lay down, when he tries the second his stomach hits the floor he screams. This screaming that he does ranges from ear piercing to just whincing for sometimes 10-15 seconds.

  • Rabbit

Hi, my rabbit has pretty much stopped eating and drinking, and isnt really passing stools properly. If he is they are very small. He has been to the vet today, and had some injections to help his system work better and they gave me some liquid food which i have siringed. He is not doing well though, his legs arent moving properly and he is falling over, there is some whitey glue liquid in both eyes and he is very quiet. Is there anything i can do? He is due to see the vet tomorrow but i dont know if he will make it through the night.

  • RIP August the Rat

Hello, Your site is the best I have found for helping me with my rats' health. Thank you for taking the time to help. I am a first time rat owner and one of my two rats just passed away suddenly (at 6 months old) and unfortuntaly it was over the weekend so I had him twice at the emergency vet. hospital here on Cape Cod and the doctor on duty both nights I brought him in didn't know much about rats (admittedly) -so I am at a loss to have any idea which disease he may have died from. I realize you can't diagnose him, but it would be helpful to have some idea (maybe based on his symptoms) what may have caused his death so I know what to tell my vet if my second rat...
