Can cats have panic attacks?
Posted on 2008/05/08 by UserTwo days ago my I noticed my cat had a little discharge (white colored) coming out of his left eye. It didn't really look like a big deal until I noticed it was there the second day. Then I got worried. His behavior is normal, although he has been a little more needy lately, but other than that he seems fine. His eye doesn't look infected, but he does shut it slightly every now and then, mainly at night or in the morning. I didn't want to take any chances so I tied to take him to the vet today. But on the way there he started freaking out and panting like a dog. I tried to comfort him by talking to him and petting him, hoping that would kind of calm him down, but his...

Symptoms from vaccination?
Posted on 2008/05/25 by KimWe adopted a 10 week old kittens yesterday (5/24/08) from the local humane society. He had a distemper shot on 5/16/08 and tested negetive for feline luekemia. He was neutered on 5/23/08 without complications. Yesterday, (5/24/08)he was sneezing occassionally. Today, his sneezing is more frequent with occasional discharge and his eyes are watery. He is eating well and playing, but sneezing a lot and seems a little wheezy, though he is breathing through his nose, not his mouth. As it is a holiday weekend, I'm concerned about waiting until Tues. (5/27/08) to contact a vet. If this is, however, something that should be addressed immediately, I'd like to know so that...

Sick Dog? HELP!
Posted on 2008/05/29 by MichelleUm okay, we just noticed this.. Our dog has a swollen, pink rim around his eye. It's seems as if watery 'eyeboogers' are coming out, but at the same time, three-fourths of his right eye is closed. His left appears to be fine, at the moment anyway. Yesterday, a another dog, which is also a registered poodle, was dropped off with us and will be staying for who knows how long (but we do not plan on keeping him). This dog doesn't seem to have anything wrong with him. In fact, besides being extremely thin, he appears to be healthy. We also have another registered miniature toy poodle who we've had for about two years now. He's fat, but appears, and has pretty much...

The white of my dogs eye looks swollen and so is his eye. What could this possibly be and does it require emergency services?
