My gueina pig looks horrible! His eye looks infected and its runny and crusty as well as is his nose, he's not eating or drinking, he's been sneezing and breathing funny, and hes weak. He's also tremmbling and hasnt used the "bathroom" either. He's been like this for like 3days and it started with what looked like an eye infection but it worsend into well what it is now. Do you think whatever he has is curable? I feel really bad but i dont want to pay a vet to tell me that he doesn't have mcuh longer to live. I dont know his age either he was given to me about 8months ago. Think you can help?

my rabbits acting weird !
Posted on 2009/07/09 by katerinaMy rabbit is 5 years old. She's always been very happy and healthy. But, this morning she started acting weird. Her head was shaking back and forth as well as her eyes. It seems as if she cannot control it. There is discharge coming out of her eyes, and she feels very warm. She seems very tired and as if her head and every thing else is leaning more toward the right side ( it looks like shes depending more on her right side). She was walking slanted too. It also seems as if shes not hungry or thirsty. I have no idea what's wrong, we bring her for routinely check ups and everything! Please help! Thankyou, Catherine.

my dog need help
Posted on 2009/07/10 by nanhello i have a 10 year old jack russel terrier who was a really friendkly and playfull wee dog, but now her behaviour has changed she is distructive in the house like scraping the paint and paper off the doors and walls and is urinating and pooing all over the house she look as if one of her eyes is a bit cloudy, she also snapped at my littel girl a few weeks ago, i also cant seem to give her enough to eat in drink she is always thirsty and sshe slavers everywhere please can you give me some advice

Cat: lost all muscle control?
Posted on 2009/07/10 by Usercat collapsed a week ago and has had no ability to walk; very little eating and drinking; cannot get up; very little bowel activity and no signs of bladder activity; one pupil dialated, the other just a slit; age: about one year?; has three kittens about two and a half months old; can hear and see and responds to us by meowing; can only lift her head for a very short time. do you hav any ideas on how we could help her without going to the vet and spending hundreds of dollars? we havent had her long at all, she just showed up at our house, had kittens, and is now strangely ill... thank you for your time and help!

Eyelid Disorder
Posted on 2009/07/11 by Usermy golden retriever has a large red swollen patch above her eye with a black center area. It has also made the area around her entire eye appear to have thick eyeliner and is causing eye drainage. Vet prescribed an antibiotic (against bacteria) but it's gotten worse (larger, more red) Anything else I can do until Monday when vet returns?

Shar Pei Edema
Posted on 2009/07/11 by UserMy 9-year-old male shar pei, over the course of a week or so, swelled up - his neck, torso, legs. Also, his eyesight seems to be affected too. He seemed to have gone from being a generally healthy dog to a dog that struggles to walk. He bumps into things now, don't know if it's because of his vision or if he's experiencing some dizziness. All blood tests came back normal at the vet's. We don't know what to do - we don't have limitless funds to investigate this but we hate to see him suffering. His appetite has NOT been affected - he still eats and drinks as normal. We used to be able to put his collar on the second notch; since his swelling, we can't get the collar...

I need help with my cat's eye.
Posted on 2009/07/12 by CrisMy cat's eye started draining last night, but I was not too concerned because he was with me yesterday while I dusted a room we rarely use. My allergies have been crazy, so I though that his was the same. Today his eye is slightly red and swollen. I rinsed it out with saline and gave him a 1/2 tsp of children's benedryl. What can I do to help him until the vet opens tomorrow? He is in pain and already suffers from asthma - I hate to see him this way.

Struck by lightning? Stroke?
Posted on 2009/07/13 by UserThe other night we had a terrible storm. When we returned home it was 8:30 and Nittany, my 8mo old cat, appeared on the porch - apparently she had gotten out when we left. She likes it outside but is mostly in indoor cat. She was wet on top - but not soaked through. Upon setting her on her feet on the floor she collapsed to her side. Her pupils were dilated close to 100% and she was unresponsive when talked to although her eyes remained open. She seemed to be breathing heavy. We found no sore spots, blood, etc. it has been 36 hrs and she has mostly been sleeping, eating/drinking very little she responds to sound but still does not look at you like she once did. ...
