My cat has a red left eye what should i do
-
I have a cat that is 5yrs old. She has been to our local vet clinic and they can not find anything wrong with her. She is coughing, sneezing, discharge of clear slime from her mouth. She is not eating or drinking. Now back from vacation, she is worst. Her back legs are useless, she creeps with them. Our local vet had bloodwork done and claims there was nothing showing up. I now do not believe them. They prescribed a laxatone for her to take, when that was not working, I called and asked for an antibodiac. That seemed to help. She has thick substance coming out her eyes, which are now closed shut. Help. I do believe I am losing my cat.

Eye Problems
Posted on 2008/02/25 by KellyMy kitten has been having this problem for about two weeks. His "inside" eyelids are showing, sometimes half way sometimes a quarter of the way. The area around the eye is not swollen. The rims are pink naturally, but the appear to be just a tad darker. He is not rubbing them. He is having just a little bit of eye goop, it is brown in color, same as it always it. His diet is 9 Lives tuna in the can 2x per day and The GoodLife Recipe dry food. I had been free feeding with the dry but have stopped yesterday thinking maybe it's an allergy to this food. This is the 2nd bag and is a new food. He does not seem sick, except that his stool is soft at...

Long Term Prednisone Use
Posted on 2008/02/26 by UserAfter seeing a veterinary allergist, my German Shepherd was diagnosed with environmental allergies and atopic dermatitis. He has been on prednisone for the last year and has done well (no scratching, hot spots, goopy eyes, etc) and has flea treatments applied once a month. However, we were concerned with the drug's long-term effects and recently weaned him off. Although we bathe him every 3-5 days with Resicort as recommended by our vet, he's back to the incessant scratching, et al. We've tried changing foods, changing bedding, feeding Dynovite, giving him Benadryl, spraying him with Tea Tree Oil, but nothing has been as effective as the prednisone. Is our only other...
